We arrived to Mandalay very tired from a 15-hour journey by train. We are very thankful to the owner Htwe for making our arrival a welcoming one equipped with a warm smile and giggles. Why you should stay at this homestay: A) beds are comfortable, linens very clean with daily housekeeping and mosquito repellants. B) Owner is very accomodating explaining to...

It has been a year ago since I stayed at Yoe Yoe Lay Guesthouse, but I still remember clearly how warm and welcoming our stay was. Every morning you can expect an omelette with fruits and the hostess lady is too kind. She called for 2,5 hours straight to fix a hotel for us in Bagan. I'll never forget my...

I just came back from a 12-day budget trip in Myanmar. As I reviewed the guesthouses I stayed throughout the 12 days, I would rate this guesthouse as one of the best I stayed while in Myanmar. Initially, I intended to stay at Royal Guesthouse as it was centrally located but it was full and there was no vacancy for...

The place is a very good choice, given that there's not many others in Mandalay. It could do with a bit of de-cluttering and cleaning of the common areas. Bedrooms and beds are clean, but quite stuffy. Good, basic breakfast. They also have bicycles for rent which is really helpful, as the town is very spread out and there's not...

One difficult thing about traveling around Myanmar on a budget is the cost of accommodation. Fortunately the people at Yoe Yoe Lay Guesthouse are changing this. Yoe Yoe Lay is a great budget accommodation for anyone in Mandalay. Its wonderful entrance area is a great space to relax, meet people and plan future endeavors. There are constantly people just arriving...

The room was a bit small, but very clean. But Aunty Nanbwe was so kind and hospitable, caring and full of laughter. We took the cooking tour and it was way better than expected. You get to see a side of Myanmar that you otherwise won't. She recommended to us a very nice restaurant (123)... she is very open, honest...

Free tea and juice, some fruit as a welcome, bikes to discovernthrbcity but also loads of other facilities. Could leave my backpack for some cycling trip around Myanmar. Delicious breakfast met home made jam and toast with eggs and a nice...

I stayed at Yoe Yoe for two nights as a solo traveller. The accommodation is quite basic but just what you need. The room I stayed in was 6 bed dorm right beside the reception, which was clean and quiet, although quite small for 6 people + bags. The breakfast was delicious every morning, and a lot better than other...

Room was basic but very clean and spacious with lots of power outlets (very important for us :D). Bathroom was outside the room but not a big deal for us. Usable WiFi, excellent breakfast (we had orange juice and omelette every day). Location is not perfect but still easily accessible from main attractions. Staff are the best! Extremely friendly and...
