A beautiful old hotel that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Our room had a balcony with a fabulous view of the sea. The hotel is on the third floor of a larger building. You can take the stairs or a neat 100 year old cage elevator. We stayed here two nights during a G-Adventures tour. The bathroom is very attractive. But...

We had booked another hotel because online (booking.com) Egypt Hotel had no rooms available. Since it was nearby the original place we booked, we decided to take a chance and stop in to make sure it was full. Sure enough, the friendly desk staff assured us they did in fact have a room available. We eagerly changed our reservation to...

This is a lovely piece of old Alexandria. We had a room with a view of the harbour. The room furniture, like the lobby furniture was all good quality, and harking back to earlier times. The hotel is really central, and anything you want to see is within easy walking distance. The plumbing works. The breakfast is fairly Egyptian, but...

Mahfouz's classic novel "Miramar" takes place in a pension in Alexandria, and Egypt Hotel brought the book to mind the second I stepped into the lobby. It oozes "old Alexandria" and I was disappointed that the person in charge was NOT a stout, aging Greek landlady dressed in black; instead he was a very smart, efficient, helpful young Egyptian guy....

Checkin was fast. Its a small room with a nice view. Room was clean. Bathroom was clean. Bed was generally clean. There was dry stain on the pillow sheet but it not very visible, like it was washed over and over but wouldn't come out. Hot water in the shower lasts 15-20 MAX, so be quick. Maybe it was our...
