great staff, really friendly, a little discerning on the way up but once your there, it was very clean. I stayed for less thatn 15$ per night with breakfast and a great view of the Med. Conveniently located. Shared bath and was clean.

We stayed at the Crillon Hotel both times we passed through Alexandria and would happily stay a third time. I have to admit that this hotel isn't as modern or srubbed-up as a chain hotel, but what it lacks in new furniture it more than makes up for in character. We stayed both in the 'suite' (which has a lovely... More

Part of the hotel has been renovated in a cozy way, whereas the 6th floor is simply disgusting and murky (a shame for the highly price charged). A pity that no guide books mentionned it...

My boyfriend and I were put into the unrenovated part of this hotel as part of an Intrepid tour (for the last 2 nights of our holiday) and we could not stay here at all. Apparently the renovated part of the hotel is lovely but here the carpets were dirty, the ceilings were patched up, there was still lots of... More

We were recently delayed in Egypt with our two kids and having 'done' Cairo and not wanting to spend too much more money - on the advice of fellow travellers we decided to head off to Alexandria and Hotel Crillon. The night before our departure I checked out the mix of reviews on Trip Advisor and was a little worried!... More

For less than $20 you get one of the most spectacular views in the world. Is it as well-scrubbed as your big chain hotels? No, but is a fraction of the price and it is clean enough. I get up early so the shared bath was spotless when I used it, however it did seem to get a bit dirty... More

From our first ride up in the lift we should have known, this Hotel is FILTHY. It is riding on its positive review in LP guide book,an absolute rip off. The manager is polite and taking your money is no problem but take a look around it is disgusting, try and look beyond the view if you get a room... More

The hotel itself is clean, with some rooms renovated, and some with amazing views across the Mediterranean. We stayed twice, the first time the room was unrenovated, but fine for what we were paying, and clean. The second time we got a newer room which was even nicer, with a fantastic balcony, (and the lift is fine and works perfectly.)... More

Was quite happy with our stay at Crillon. It is in a very old building and has a very dodgy old elevator. Stayed there as part of an Intrepid tour. One of the group got stuck in the elevator so we used the stairs. I didn't get one the front rooms with the magnificent views of the corniche but my... More

“This place is a few dollars cheaper than the rest, but along the Corniche, you'll find loads of similar hotels and it does not cost a lot of time to check out a few. I am not going back to Crillon even though i spend a few days in Alex each month, year long”
