Stayed here for almost a week and I must say I made the right choice ;) Its location is superb! This is one of the very few good hotels right across the popular Kolovare beach and only 15mins walking distance to the old town. Also about 15mins to the airport by car. Very convenient.
The hotel has a spacious lobby area with cosy sofas and a bar. Very comfortable setting for anyone to just hang around if need. Check in was easy and staffs were generally pretty friendly and helpful.
Double room was good with a queen bed, small side table and bathtub! It has a balcony with a small chair and table. The railing came in handy for drying clothings and towels especially after every swim! Make sure get a room with pool/sea view!
Pool is awesome (salt water though) with many deck chairs provided. However, you MUST reserve them early by placing a towel on it as they got snatched away very quickly. Perhaps some sort of system to manage that would be good. People usually reserve for entire day despite them not at the pool physically they whole time.
Beach is amazing. Just short walk across from the hotel back gate. It’s pebble beach so do come prepared with wet shoes.
Breakfast was okay with some varieties (exact same stuff though everyday) but food quality needs to be improved. The hall indeed looked like a canteen filled with plastic chairs and tables. It feels like a boring place catered to big group. (Management should really improve this as there were way too many comments about this).
Housekeeping standard was not consistent. Room make up service by the morning shift was shockingly terrible the first few days (see photo) with sheets not tucked in properly and pillows simply thrown in. But it got better after several days (perhaps change of team).
Room service food was surprisingly not bad and also reasonably priced. Keep it up!

Just got back from a weeks holiday with my 25 year old daughter.
The hotel was fine, needed a lick of paint here and there and the pools were not looking their best, but generally clean.
We were breakfast and dinner and the variety was much the same most days, but all was okay. The hotel stuff we’re very polite and pleasant and always happy to help.
Drinks are dearer than the bars nearby or you could take a 10-15 minute walk up to the local supermarket and stock up the small fridge in the room, also no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
No evening entertainment in the hotel and the local bars were not rowdy, went to Porthas Flamingo one evening to watch the sunset, which was nice.
Walked into Zadar a few times and being a woman of a certain age I was dripping with sweat, so a portable fan came in handy 😅.
If you can do it download the Uber app. which we only did on the last night to book a taxi back to the airport, we were initially quoted 75 euros from the airport to the hotel and a man approached us when we said to the first taxi man that’s too expensive and said he would do it for 40 euros. The Uber taxi was 12 euros, good job I had my daughter with me who understands how to do these things.
All in all I have mixed feelings of the trip, gone are the days that Croatia is a reasonably priced holiday destination, since they now have the euro everything has increased in price by 20-30% a receptionist told us.
We had a tab for the drinks we had during the week and when we checked out they put a tax on top of our bill just so you are aware.

The hotel was obviously one of the old communist hotels on what was once Yugoslav Adriatic coast. Today it is renovated with very good rooms, fresh interiors and nice pool, though you still have some sense of the past. Or at least I had a clear recollection from the past. The service in the hotel is typical for a big hotel - I'd say very OK. The hotel is right in front of the public beach, which tends to be very crowded. I'd prefer to stay by the pool. The city walls where you have the best attractions of Zadar are within 10min walking distance. If you are into running, I'd recommend a run from the hotel and all around the city walls at sunset - it is amazing. It is easily reachable by taxi from the airport, and you can walk to the inter-city bus station in only few min.

Hotel Kolovare is very clean and freshly renovated near the beach and about 15 minute walk from the old town. Rooms are nice and clean with small balcony equipped with two chairs and table were you can chill out. Bathroom is of average size provided with soft towels and toiletries. I missed the tea and coffee station in the room. Breakfast was good, plenty of fresh fruit, grilled or fresh vegetables and great coffee. The staff were helpful and professional. I haven't had a chance to check out the pool area but I hope to come back and stay a little longer.

Hotel location is great, next to the seaside, close to Zadar old town. There are 2 supermarkets within walking distance (INTERSPAR hypermarket and KONZUM) to stock up consumables. McDonald's is nearby too.
My room is quite small. Fortunately, it is newly refurbished, so the furniture looks new. There is balcony with coffee table and chairs. Bathroom is small, water pressure was low. The view from my room was not bad, had a glimpse of the sunrise sky that morning though the sunrise was not directly visible. Breakfast spread was very good, the bakeries like croissant was quite good though the restaurant set up is like a canteen.
There is an outdoor pool but not in operation during winter time. I had a pleasant walk after breakfast around the pool area.

We stayed at the hotel and it is one of the most worsts hotel that we ever stay!!
The room is not clean!
The carpet is dirty
In the bathroom we found to many hairs everywhere.
The bathroom is so small that even for the toilet paper they can’t organize a place.
And the most is the air condition.
We arrived to the hotel after dinner.
We felt cold and try to increase the temperature, unfortunately without success.
I asked the reception to solve it. The time was very close to 23:00pm
The man in the reception a explain that the air con. operating in all the rooms with the same temperature - 19 c’ degrees.
We are in a year 2022, can you believe you can’t operate the temperature in your room?
Were can we go in midnight???
The hotel give itself 4 stars
It is even not 2 stars
We recommend that If you have the ability and you can choose, do not order any night in this hotel

Hotel in Zadar, Croatia. The hotel design is mainly simple, the rooms are small in size, simple and practical. The bathroom has soap, shower cap, shampoo, and conditioner, but there is no hot water boiler in the room.

Large free car park. Agree it looks a little dated from the outside but I’m not buying the place so no issues.
The reception is very nice and great fast friendly service. The room was like new with enough room for us and a ok sized bathroom. The balcony was of a really good size and great for drying swim ware.
The pool (salt water) has free towels and food / drink service if needed. Where flip flops or foot ware as they get a little sandy around the pool area but the pool is a decent size with shower next to it. We used it a lot over the 2 night as the beach was packed.
The hotel has a secure back gate to get to the beach or walk into town. 10 / 15 mins from the sun set hot spot and good food locally.
We ate breakfast both days and they have a large chose to cover most people.
It was perfect for two nights and a pleasant stay.

Not a 4 star hotel, more like a 3. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, pillows lumpy and cheap filled, cheap toiletries. Very poor breakfast, the food quality was terrible, coffee terrible, cheap juice, cardboard food. The pool area could do with an uplift, rough parts to the paving near the pool. Reception staff unhelpful, more interested in siting on their mobile phones, they don’t look up! On a positive note the location is great for the beach and a walk into the old town, but that’s it!

Very small room: there is no place to put the suitcases. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired: there was hair in the bathtub (which was actually very high) and on the bathroom floor.
In the room under the bed there was a used bag with a sponge for cleaning shoes...
The quality of the buffet is poor: little variety, cold food, juice from the machine...
I do not recommend it.
