It’s half hidden behind the restaurant of the same name. The restaurant cashier doubles as front desk. There are 3 rooms per floor, and 4 floors altogether.

The rooms are surprisingly spacious (the mirrors also help), with a regular king size bed, a modern bathroom with a large shower. The double windows were not enough to mask the nightlife of a Summer Saturday.

Breakfast was displayed at our table on a triple layer tray, bread basket, very good coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice and eggs to the order.

Down a narrow alley, this lovely hotel is a welcome surprise located in a historic building in Zadar’s old town. Rooms are tastefully designed, modern and uncluttered, good air con and comfy beds. The bathroom was generously proportioned, with nice blue mosaic tile work and a sparkling shower with a powerful overhead and hand held jet. Staff were very accommodating ( we got a last minute room arriving at 10pm) and they’ll help with parking - note that there is no direct outside parking, as the centre is pedestrianised. The hotel’s sushi restaurant was well priced serving up well dressed plates created with quality ingredients. The black cod, handmade dumplings and sushi rolls are especially good. This space turns into the breakfast room: go for the eggs Benedict, which is artfully put together on a thin layer of toast, layered with avocado, egg and just a nice splash of sauce. We’d return!

One of the highlights of visiting Zadar was staying atthe Art Kalelarga. We loved this hotel. The entrance is in a quiet alley, and although the hotel is very close to the main square, it is quiet and noise-free. The staff were all excleent and eager to please. The rooms are modern, well decked out, new and clean. The breakfast was abundant, creative and tasty. We met one of the owners, who was very pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend staying here

Fantastic hotel, great location & amazing staff !
The hotel is located right in the old town but only a 5 minute walk to the sea . Our room was huge, extremely clean with great AC . The bathroom was good size with a fab shower. The hotel breakfast was lovely if not a little confusing . First day we shown to table set for breakfast and we were given a menu with eggs or omelettes with ham, cheese , veg etc so ordered ham and eggs then a cold selection of ham, cheese and pastries also arrived which we were unaware of but it was all delicious and probably wouldn’t have ordered eggs if knew was also getting this. The waiter ( old chap ) was lovely and attentive and offered great advice how to get to the beach .
The next morning arrived for breakfast , no tables set and told to sit anywhere. This time no menu just told we could have eggs but knowing about the cold platter we declined and happy with the platter again . The table was then set but a lot of guests came in that morning looking a bit confused at lack of table settings , maybe short staffed that morning ?
All in all though this is a fantastic hotel and we would definitely stay here again when return to Zadar ! The staff definitely make this place and are a credit to Heritage Hotel brand !

Perfect location in Zadar Old Town. Right next to the Main Street but still quiet at night.

The room was VERY spacious. Lots of storage space and large bathroom.

Breakfast was really tasty. You can order eggs a la carte and they brought us a tower of cold cuts, cheese and breads.

The hotel had an elevator!! This was a gem after walking so many steps and hills in our trip through Dalmatia. The Old Town does not allow cars, but the hotel is close to one of the gates, so it’s easy to carry your luggage.

Nice boutique hotel in the heart of the old city. It was cool that they still had some of the original walls. The room was pretty spacious as was the bathroom. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and it was decent. They made eggs to order and gave you a tiered tray of meats, cheeses, nuts and breads. Only downside is that it can be hard to find and there’s no real lobby - just the restaurant.

Lovely small hotel in the heart of Zadar, yet quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful (for example, gave good guidance on parking outside the walled city). Comfortable and well-furnished rooms. A la carte breakfast, while good, was not as extensive as similar properties on our trip to Croatia.

After staying in over rated hotels with prison beds this was a relief. From the moment we checked in with superstar front desk man Ivan to our morning breakfast, it was pure bliss. The hotel is super contemporary. The bed was like laying on clouds in heaven. The linen was 400 count if not more. The pillows were one thin and one thick. Finally a choice of pillows!!! Real sized shower and bed (American King). The staff in restaurant was both charming and knowledgeable of the city. I have stayed at there other hotel in Zadar (Bastion) and this on is still the same great service with a more boutique feel. Only 9 rooms, so book early. Great location In the old city walls.

Quaint and cozy refuge in the center of Old Town. Walk to everything. The only constructive feedback I’d give to management is to find another place for the front desk smokers to smoke besides outside the front door. Coming back to the hotel required us to navigate through cigarette smoke, past an overflowing ash tray, and hold our breath up the stairs. It’s not the best first impression for your otherwise beautiful hotel. Easily fixable. Apart from that, we loved our stay.

We had a wonderful stay and can highly recommend. The hotel’s location is perfect. Right near the main gate but very quiet. Our room was spacious, clean, with very thoughtfully-appointed amenities and great blackout curtains and a beautiful breakfast. Marco at the front desk was extremely helpful, welcoming, kind and thoughtful. We appreciated all his help and advice. If you are coming to Zadar, stay here. You will be glad you did.
