This is a lovely place to settle down for a few nights. The courtyard was so cozy, rooms were clean, fridge was stocked with necessities, and Antonia the manager was delightful. Thank you for making our stay so nice.
We made arrangements with the Hotel Rathuus Wein and Design (Vienna) and for 40 euro a taxi took us to the Vienna Airport, which was a 30-minute drive. We took an Austrian Air flight from Vienna to Split, it took about 90 minutes (183 euro or $207.50/ea.). On arrival in Split, we walked out the Arrivals level doors and took an immediate left turn. Just past some large concrete blocks (blocking vehicles from parking near the airport building) was a commercial parking area. There we got on a Croatia Airlines Bus (30 kuna or $4.60/ea.) that took us from the airport to the marina area in old town Split, about 30-minutes. From there we walked about 10 minutes to the Zephyrus Boutique Hotel. The Zephyrus Boutique Hotel ($220.00/night) was the nicest place we stayed during our trip. We stayed on the third level (actually the 4th floor, unlike the US, the ground level floor is 0) of the hundreds of years old building. The room had a kitchen, living room and separate bedroom, with an adjacent bathroom, all looked brand new. But the best part was an outside sitting area, large enough for 2 chairs and a table. It overlooked the Port of Split and you could sit and watch all the comings and goings of the port. The place had a hot water maker, plates, utensils and a stove/oven, it was all very nice and all very clean. Plus, the owner was nice and extremely helpful. She gave us dinner recommendations and we walked about 5-minutes to Restaurant Sperun (mentioned in Rick Steve book) where we ate extremely good and extremely fresh seafood pasta. Breakfast was not included, but the kitchen refrigerator contained yogurt and milk (left there for us), there was cereal, granola, fruit and ground coffee and coffee maker. As the next day, we met 3 friends who joined us in Split, after one more night, we moved to Lanterna Rooms (about a 3-minute walk from the Zephyrus Boutique Hotel). On to Lanterna Rooms, Split.…
We had a wonderful stay at Zephyrus Our 2 bed apartment was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and in a great location, a 5 minute walk to Split old town and on the doorstep of local bars and restaurants and also Marjin Park (a must see but walk the whole way to the flag for a spectacular view of Split). Can't recommend this place enough. Thanks Antonia
After driving into Split, we were not expecting a lot. We had to find parking (difficult) and then drag bags into a maze of narrow streets near the old town. However, when we arrived at the apartment the most friendly host greeted us and showed us to our room two floors up. We had a 2 room fully furnished apartment with a great outdoor eating area. It took about 5 minutes to be in the old town walls or along the waterfront. The place was very quiet and clean. We can’t thank the owner enough for her hospitality and friendship. We’d certainly stay again.
Zephyrus is a house with apartments centrally located in the old town of Split. A short stroll to center (5 minutes). The room was spacious with kitchenette and A/C. A small garden available on the back side. The lovely host, Antonia, made us feel very welcome and at home.
