My wife had stayed here for 2 nights while touring Split as part of a 2 1/2 week visit to Italy and Croatia. This was by far the best place we stayed during our entire trip. You cannot top this location - it was a really cool experience to stay within the walls of Diocletian's Palace. Hotel has a lot...

We stayed here this week for 3 nights with 4 adults in a family room. The room had a large bed with 2 small twin size beds. The bathroom was an odd set up with dark lighting & dark tiles. The shower was in its own room but the toilet and sink were before so more than one person could...

I can't say enough about Hotel Slavija. The welcome was terrific, and after a very long drive their attitude of ease with check in and directing us to parking was just what we wanted. Our room, in which we were cheerfully told the a/c was already on, had a lovely and very private terrace. Bring earplugs if you're sensitive as...

Together with my friends of the Old Boys Team of the Rotterdam Football Club Neptunus-Schiebroek, I stayed in the hotel Slavija in Split from June 26 – June 29 2015 for the first time. To make a long story about the hotel short: a little gem and actually I couldn’t mention one negative aspect. The small hotel is professionally and...

This was the first hotel of our visit to the Dalmatian Coast and hinterland. There was a short flight of steps up from the square to the hotel entrance. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and we had a first floor room accessible via a lift or an easy flight of stairs. The room was small but clean and...

Stay in a room of this hotel, a part of the Diocletian Palace and enjoy your breakfast in a restored Roman Spa which is again a part of this hotel to make your trip to Split a memorable one. On one side, just out of the city wall, you have the riverside promenade, series of cafes and the harbor. On...

Really enjoyed our stay here. Amazing location, steeped and literally submerged in history as it is within the great Diocletian Palace and above a Roman Spa built around the 4th/5th century! Very close to the harbour and busy promenade lined with cafes, bars and shopping areas. One of the best cafes- Figa is right below the hotel, along with a...

The location of the Hotel is a big plus, right in the heart of the old centre of Split, a few minutes’ walk from the Riva and the Diocletian's Palace…it can definitely be a perfect base for exploration of the old town. Our triple room was spacious and very comfortable. We got a very warm welcoming smile from the reception...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Slavija is type of a heritage hotel due to its location, history and protection by Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and UNESCO. The Diocletian's Palace was built in the middle of the 3rd century AD, while the Hotel Slavija was built inside its walls, above the Emperor's western baths. Therefore, it can be concluded that the building of the hotel influenced the protection of the Baths from the devastation. With time the building of the hotel expanded, and from the Baroque palace it became today's Hotel Slavija. Hotel Slavija is under the protection of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, and in part is protected by the UNESCO. The location in the very center of the town makes Hotel Slavija an ideal choice for a stay in Split, surrounded by all relevant historical buildings of the city of Split, including the Temple of Jupiter, the St. Duje Cathedral, the Milesi palace... It is ideal place for both business and pleasure travelers because of its location. Hotel is situated in the very center of the city and is but a few minutes walk from all the major attractions as well as from the main bus terminal, airport shuttle terminal, railway station and ferry. The hotel has 25 rooms and each room is air conditioned, with private bath, hair dryer, satellite TV, Internet connection and direct dial telephone. Some of the rooms are with terraces and Hotel is especially proud to present them because, terraces are rarity in the old part of Split. In the lobby of the hotel is Internet Hot spot, which is free for hotel guests. We also provide faxing, copying, printing and scanning, as well as laundry service. ... more   less
