I'm a little confused by the raving reviews. The hotel is overpriced for its location and level of service. It's a solid 15 minutes to the center of town and is located on the opposite side of most of the restaurants and amenities, meaning it's 20 minutes from things. In Antigua, this is quite a distance, as it's a really...

Let me answer you kindly. It is clear you wrote your review with anger. Your communication was received by our front desk a little tardy, when we had already sent your shuttle to the airport (We did sent you a transportation). You changed it by email with so short notice being hard for us to resolve… by phone would have...

This hotel is a few blocks northeast of the center, but it is definitely worth the walk. The staff could not be more friendly. It boasts a beautiful roof top view where you can enjoy sunrise or sunset. Also, you will find courtyards at every turn. The wifi didn't reach my room, however, taking a seat on the balcony did...

During the second day of our Antigua stay, we found ourselves without a hotel reservation at a place we'd booked weeks before. Frantically we started asking local people if they knew of a hotel nearby. Since we were in the outskirts of Antigua, we were pointed to Candelaria Hotel. This place is a hidden gem. It's far away enough from...

The first room we got the first night was really nice, large, with a big bed on the 2nd floor but it was close to the stairs and then next door neighbors were playing TV really loud late night and early in the morning so our sleep wasn't very restful that night. It wasn't the hotel fault but the neighbors....

Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms, very polite, helpful staff! The only negative I have is the rooms are not air conditioned but the manager did supply us with a fan! Lots to do in the town of Antigua & the hotel staff are more than happy to assist with suggestions of places to visit.

Our mission group stayed at this lovely hotel. It is very secure and safe for travelers. The rooms where nice and comfortable. The interior court yard was charming and relaxing. The patio on top of the hotel has a spectacular view of the town.

The Candelaria Antigua is a great hotel. It's walking (good walking) distance to many sites and the market place for shopping. The staff at Candelaria were always available and ready to help you in any way. The lush courtyard and fountain were nice to sit around and relax. The view of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango volcanoes from the rooftop were...

Walking in Antigua is a great and healthy experience, we are glad you enjoyed it. We are constantly trying to teach our staff that solving any situation the best we can, is the cherry on each day...so I am glad you felt it and had a good stay. See you soon.

We traveled to Antigua to do some humanitarian aid work. We stayed at the Candelabra while in Guatemala. The service was outstanding. We have food sensitivities and the staff quickly learned what we needed and made every effort to make sure we ate well. The hotel is gorgeous with a roof top terrace that looks out onto 3 volcanoes--a very...

What a beautiful hotel! We stayed for two days before and two days after a trip to volunteer at an orphanage outside of Guatemala City. The hotel has an amazing ambiance, serves a delicious choice of breakfast included with your room and lies at the edge of Antigua so there is no disturbance ben during big holiday celebrations.
