The staff really made a difference at Posada de la Merced, friendly, helpful, quick responders, really made you feel confortable. The home is very clean, always with beatiful flowers, great hot water at all times. Rooms are small and so are the bathrooms, but always clean. Enough and spotless towels. WIFI is ok. Just next to the house there is...

We stayed at Posada la merced and had a lovely time. The home has a well maintained and beautiful garden and a variety of room sizes. Down sides: Sometimes noisy groups Rooms lead into a central courtyard that echos and the windows let a LOT of noise in so it can be quite noisy in the mornings Internet is intermittent...

The staff really make this posada a charming one! Jorge was super quick on my emails prior to my visit. Once i arrived, I felt totally at home. The room was small but clean and had everything I needed. Super hot water! While showering, I actually noticed how white the grout between the tile was. The front desk staff was...

After a weekend of R&R with our group of 19 that built 2 houses for Habitat, I stayed on by myself (a sr. female) for 2 additional days of R&R and had a wonderful time. I felt perfectly safe there and also while exploring the streets and parks by myself. Jorge and his staff run a very comfortable home-like hotel...

This a nice, well situated hotel with a lovely rooftop terrace. The only problem was, the rooms are in an open courtyard and voices outside the rooms are VERY loud. We stayed at the same time a group of American college kids and just their comings and goings late into the night were very loud. Also, no tvs at all...

I can't say enough of this place. Jorge responded to my inquiries via email promptly and patiently prior to my arrival. I reserved the first 3 nights in country with the intention of filling the rest of my days by ear and feel. The place is spotless. Free filtered water. 10 minute stroll to the center. Airline lost my bag....

We stayed here for a total of six nights at the beginning and end of our Guatemala trip. The hotel is in an excellent location, just a block and a half from the Merced church, easy walking distance to the center of Antigua, yet on a street that is not too busy and fairly quiet at night. The place is...

I completely agree with, but will try not to repeat, the praise of others. Posada La Merced is excellent in every respect, especially the kind care of the staff. I was in Guatemala for the first time, and stayed at La Merced altogether about 12 days, the first time for nine days while I went to Spanish school and enjoyed...
