Beautifully decorated and great friendly staff! The location is great for experiencing Antigua! Breakfast is a nice touch and the property is super secure. Right next to bars and food and a short walk to central park. Beautiful views from the terrace and a beautiful patio with lots of places to relax.

Antigua Guatemala is not a large city. Nevertheless, Posada el Antaño is across the street and around the corner from one of the nicest baroque churches and plazas, La Merced. It is 10 minutes walking distance from the main plaza, or Parque Central. During my stay on Holy Week, the entire 5th Avenue (5a Avenida) becomes a pedestrian-only street, making...

On a volunteer dental work trip to Guatemala, I stayed at the Posada El Antano which allowed me to feel closer to the local culture. The staff is very attentive in this small two story collection of rooms around two courtyards. For safety, they keep the door to the street locked and give good advice on where to walk at...

We enjoyed our 2-night stay very much at this small downtown hotel with about a dozen rooms. It’s nicely managed. The location is excellent, right downtown on 6th Avenue with restaurants and convenience stores less than 100 feet away. We got one of the best rooms. It was very large, with 2 beds as we requested, although hard. It had...

Posada El Antano represents good value, especially if you can get a discount. The clean rooms are large, with a small TV, with several English stations, and a sink which is separate from the bath and toilet. There are several nice sitting places, such a small garden, a roof top terrace, from which you can see the three volcanoes. and...

Traveling to a foreign country can be daunting. Staying in an unknown facility can be too. This was an experiment well worth it. The facility was charming, clean, safe, in the heart of all activities, and the staff was VERY accommodating. The facility is basic, charming, but basic. So if you are someone who only stays at fancy hotels, this...

I can't think of one negative to my stay here. The hotel is old world charming with a comfortable sitting area and lots of details to look at throughout the hotel. It looks like it used to be a house a long time ago and was turned into a hotel and part of it is still decorated as a home....

We found this place on airbnb.com for a great price. The room was gorgeous, the bed in great shape and the bathroom spotless. It was romantically and tastefully decorated. Our room had a coffee maker, mini refrigerator and a safe. The breakfast is just good, but it is included for an already great price, so how can you complain? The...
