Went for a girls weekend for my daughter’s birthday. To start initial impressions are great. Lots to do Lots to eat Appears to have a great amenities However in general staff seemed under trained and not happy to be at work We stayed in hotel (not tower) Room was updated nice - beds comfy bath small yet very clean. Shower had only rain head so pretty hard to feel like your hair is fully rinsed. Kicked off night at the Den - nice atmosphere, Staff was ok - not warm, not welcoming and seemed like we were unconvincing them by trying to check in for bowling. Bowling was fun. Food however highly reminiscent of Chuck E Cheese - had flat bread and a salad. Would not reco. Enjoyed time at pools - very nice Then settled into room and wanted room service. First small annoyance was you had to google the room service menu - nothing in room telling you where to go. Found it and ordered a pizza and wings and 4 ice waters When it came to room is was take out and not room service (in bags and boxes) Fine (not ideal but fine) Yet food was terrible Wings had no condiments as ordered Pizza was doughy almost inedible Ice waters were $3 bottles of water (no where noted until delivered) No plates or silverware were provided (Happy I had some due to having a bday cake) Overall I would NEVER order room service Overall stay was OK Would not come back For the $$ I expect service that is pleasant and edible (payed $120 for 2 pizzas, 6 wings, salad, 4 waters, 1 margarita 1 appetizer) Price alone would be ok if food was enjoyable and did not taste like ill prepared frozen foods. Room alone was fine yet for the $$ not sure I would ever stay this far out of town. Overall underwhelmed Had exceptions of a real resort - unfortunately this did not deliver (mind you the teens had fun and the environment is very safe)

I had a work conference at the resort for two nights and three days early Oct. 2023. I stayed in the tower; no complaints at all. There was house keeping, but I didn't need it. The tower room was updated and modern. A very nice room. The stores and lobby on the first floor were bustling. The staff was very nice. The resort has indoor pool and tennis courts. I would go back for work or pleasure. My only complaint I wish the hottub was a little hotter. :-)

My husband and I had a couples massage. We both agreed that Hannah and Alisha provided the BEST massages we have both ever had. We are coming back to Grand Traverse Resort even if it just for those two and their exceptional skills!

We stayed 2 nights for a getaway couple weekend. When we checked in the front desk person was friendly and check in was quick. We were in a room right off the elevator in the tower. The room was very nice and the view was beautiful! However, the room was an adjoining room and there is absolutely no noise dampening insulation in between the doors. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were small. The first evening the cable went out in the whole hotel. When I went down to check on the status of it getting fixed the lady at the front desk told us we should “find something else to do.” While I realize that the cable not working is not entirely their fault, I think her response was inappropriate. Also, the first night our neighbors woke us up around 5am. The second night they were having a party or something next door and I called the front desk at 1am because I couldn’t take it anymore. The noise continued and I called again at 3am when the front desk informed me that security couldn’t find where the noise was coming from. We decided to leave, as we were getting no sleep and the guest next to us threatened my husband when he asked them to be quiet. We were given a refund for half of one night of our stay (thanks Josh) but this is advertised as a higher end resort and having this sort of experience to me is unacceptable. The spa was fantastic and the bar tenders in the hotel lobby were very friendly. I’m not sure if the noise issue is only in adjoining rooms, but be forewarned that it is definitely an issue in room 1550.

Love the rooms and staff but hate the music in the lobby. It is way to loud and just makes everything else louder. Chaos! Loved interacting with Scott and Johnny. We typically come to the resort three to four times a year. The housekeeping ladies were helpful and friendly. Gotta love that.

The beds are amazing, I love to stay here because I am going to get the best sleep. The atmosphere is warm, we spend a lot of time in the lobby and the staff is friendly and cordial. The rooms are large with a beautiful views of the golf course in the tower. The rooms have been updated and are beautiful.

A nice get away with lots to do. Pool is uncrowded and nice. Stayed at the beach cottages which were quite and steps from the beach (Grand Traverse Bay) Unit was recently re-modeled completely. Leisure or golf trip (excellent courses ON site.) Has complete kitchenette so bring stuff you like!

Great friendly and informed staff. We enjoyed a 4 day visit to the Traverse area. The room was very comfortable and had a great view. The fine dining in the tower restaraunt was the highlight of our visit - watching the sunset over Lake Michigan.

If you’re hungry at the resort go off site for your meal. Had a group of 6 on Nov. 12th. We all left full but are pockets were empty. A filet for $80 alacarte, 1/2 bowl of soup $12, a very small serving of Mac and cheese $16, scallops $56 for 4 pieces. Though our server was pleasant enough the service was extremely slow, almost three hours. Perhaps they were waiting until all our money was gone. Avoid at all cost; literally
