BEWARE THE INN'S THREE WEEK IN ADVANCE CANCELLATION POLICY. We had reserved a one night stay at this inn (Sept 6) while visiting the Cape for a week. We had reserved ferry transport from Harwich and were taking our bicycles for transportation while on the island. Then came tropical storm Hermine. A few days before our departure, the storm caused... More

But we were sorely disappointed. The ceiling paint is all cracked and chipping off, the bed leans to one side, by a good 6"! There is no one to greet you or check you in besides the housekeeper. It feels shabby and in desperate need of refurbishment

My husband and I checked in to the Summer House on India St the weekend of Aug 20th..we arrived at 11am at the unkempt property. No one was available to greet us into this establishment. We walked in, and just said "Hello, we are the ...., we are here to check in" a female voice spoke from another room and... More

We just spent a long weekend in Nantucket and as always, the island was full of activity and it never disappoints. We have stayed at numerous Inns on Nantucket, and thought 31 India St. was a good location, and it was close to town. The jitney to Summer House on Sconset was outstanding - drivers were excellent - we spent... More

Cute nicely appointed room. Quiet street but only a couple blocks from all the shopping and restaurants of downtown Nantucket. Despite being on the top floor of an older building the window air conditioner kept the room cool. One of the really nice things about staying at any of the Summer House in town Inns is the ability to use... More

I would NEVER stay at any of the Summer House properties again. We booked and paid for a large room on the first floor with a king bed. When we got there we were in a small room on the 3rd floor (walkup) with a double bed. I called and spoke to a variety of people in the "office" 5... More

Have to agree with Mike W. Unfortunately, while staying on premises, I accidentally dropped my necklace ( a sentimental and designer piece) on the floor. As luck would have it, it fell through a shoddy floor board. I have made 4 (four) phone calls to the owner Chris, after management told me there was nothing they could do without owner... More

the room and common areas were very run down. Antique is lovely, run down and a lack of maintenance is not. In addition, the owners and management don't care. We reserved a larger room then we were given something much smaller. Management couldn't care less.

We've stayed here, the Jared Coffee House and The White Elephant. The latter is truly a top-rated inn, close to village center on the bay and elegant. Jared is where my parents spent their honeymoon in 1943 when it was called the Ocean House and while Nantucket's oldest hotel it is an elegant small hotel (the main bldg) and a... More

I had every intention of giving a poor rating to this B&B at the beginning of my stay but then it grew on me. I'm accustomed to having onsite parking, a concierge, fitness center, pool and wifi in my room (none of which are amenities provided here) however, it forced me to spend more time out and about. I explored... More
