My husband and I just spent two nights at Purple Gables, and loved it!. Lynda is a wonderful host -- warm, gracious, and welcoming. The suite includes every convenience -- hairdryer that actually works, magnifying mirror, full length mirror, place to put your toiletries, snacks, cold drinks, ironing board, wrapping paper (for that gift your brought and forgot to wrap),...

We were visiting colleges in Amherst with our daughter and decided to stay at a bed and breakfast instead of a traditional hotel. And are we glad that we did. We had a private entrance to our own beautifully furnished apartment. Our hostess Lynda couldn't have been more warm and welcoming. She made us feel right at home from the...

This is my second stay at the Purple Gables, Lynda the owner is a terrific resource and welcoming person. My mother who is almost 80 and has traveled extensively said this is the nicest bed and breakfast she has ever stayed in. My mother who is a history buff was very interested in Emily Dickinson and Lynda gave us some...

Hi! It was great having you and your delightful mom stay last week. It was fun to hear how your daughter has grown and decided on where to go to college, since she was a mere child on your last visit. My only complaint was that you and your mom couldn't stay longer!! Loved you visit. Lynda

Travelled to Amherst and stayed at the Purple Gables for a college squash tournament. We were so happy with our choice to stay here! Very conveniently located. Lynda was a great hostess and provided wonderful breakfasts (even catered to husband's specific requests). House was very nicely furnished, clean, and there was plenty of room. Our daughter joined us, had her...

I visited Amherst recently on a work trip to UMASS, and had left it a little late to book the campus hotel. A colleague recommended Purple Gables B&B so I went for it. Lynda, the owner, got back to me very quickly regarding my booking and took my payment details over the phone. She asked about breakfast options etc in...

Hi, it was such a delight to have you stay here. Among other things, I enjoyed learning about the history of your university and and now can put a pin in the world map for visitor from Scotland. Just FYI for your next visit, we do have WiFi but it occasionally needs to be rebooted, I wish you had mentioned...

Purple Gables is a piece of heaven tucked away in a beautiful spot on the edge of the UMASS Amherst campus. Lynda is a wonderful and gracious host and provided me with a beautiful and relaxing stay. I wish I could move the space into my home as it was so perfect. Among the amenities is a big comfortable bed...

We were four friends in town for an organized bike ride "The Farm Ride". We ended up securing a reservation last minute and Lynda the hostess could not have been nicer. The little cottage had AC, a welcomed surprise, and was nice and neat with plenty of snacks. The breakfast was outstanding - super creative and fresh and the mini-fridge...

It was so much fun having you-all stay. The personal connections were such a coincidence and made me feel like we were already old friends! I'd love to have you come again soon.

Amherst and the surrounding areas are beautiful and charming and this small bed and breakfast reflects that perfectly. My wife, daughter and I stayed in the suite and we're greeted warmly by Lynda upon our arrival. Cheese, crackers and conversation about local restaurants and things to do made this a very warm welcome. Later, a hike in the nearby woods...
