I've stayed here many times over the past four months on business. This week, I prepaid 5 nights through Priceline. My son became sick and I had to leave early. I asked the manager if I could use the remaining 2 nights another time since I prepaid for the nights. He said, "oh we don't have any say over that. Priceline handles it." So I contacted Priceline and they opened an inquiry. They said they'd be glad to offer a credit with the hotel's approval. However, Priceline contacted me to say they called the hotel and the hotel manager would not approve the credit. I wasn't asking for a refund. Allowing me to use my prepaid nights on another date wouldn't have taken money from the hotel. I would have been glad to make up the difference if the rate changed. This all makes sense. One of the other employees at the hotel privately told me the hotel never makes exceptions for customers. …
The baseboards of the bathroom were filthy. There was shampoo and body wash on the wall in the bathroom. There was no soap by the bathroom sink. The carpet in the bedroom area was worn and dirty. The TV remote was sticky and needed a clean.
Friendly and capable staff, clean, attractively-furnished rooms, great location, close to restaurants and shopping. Shaquan, Annie, Daniel — super friendly and helpful! Housekeeping staff is very efficient and service-oriented.
The manager, David, and the desk clerk, Daniel, were exceptionally welcoming, helpful, kind, and considerate. Other staff members were very helpful and accommodating. Overall, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The one thing that surprised me, and it is a minor detail, is that there was only one hook in the bathroom on which to hang a towel. Since there were three of us in the room, additional hooks would have been useful.
Hilton inn express Annapolis Maryland review The good way overpowers the bad, so I’m going to start there. I got this for $73 a night on Priceline. A huge room with a king-sized bed, a pullout couch, plenty of desk space, a small kitchenette which consists of a microwave, a sink, a good -sized refrigerator, and cupboards. The bathroom is large with a walk-in shower. Everything is super clean. I find that rare. Super friendly and helpful front desk and cleaning staff. Every single one of them. The bed was very comfortable, with awesome pillows. And many of them. You can control the heat and air conditioning with a digital unit on the wall. Super quiet unit. They actually wash the comforters! I went down to get some new towels and the attendant took me to the laundry/supply room and I saw heaps of dirty comforters in a bin and I asked her if they actually washed the comforters. They do! I personally think that should be required of every hotel! One of the best gyms I’ve ever seen at a hotel. Treadmill, elliptical, bike, a bench, free weights, yoga mats, resistance bands. You can turn the air down and it cools the room off super quick. Such an excellent hotel, that I hate to even mention any issues. But, a few things bothered me, and they may bother you as well, so I will share them. The first issue is that there is no place to hang your towel, not even a hand towel. OK, well let me correct that. There is one towel rack which acts as the handle of the shower door. And there’s a dual hook on the back of the bathroom door, but the hooks are so close together you can only hang one towel on them and so short that a towel will not stay on them. That’s it. This is a king-sized suite, so that means it sleeps at least three people. There is a vanity with a long counter, and plenty of space for some towel racks. My daughter goes to college in Annapolis, so I will stay here again, but I will pick up one of those over-the-door rack of hooks at the Dollar Tree for the bathroom first. The shower doors do not slide easily. The fan in the bathroom is connected to the light, so when you turn the light on, you turn the fan on. And that’s a great idea, because people will not remember to turn the fan on, and that causes mold. So I do not blame them for making it non-optional. However. The fan is SO INCREDIBLY LOUD that you cannot have a conversation if the light is on. You cannot listen to the news while you get ready. You cannot have a phone conversation It’s overpowering. This impacted my ability to multi-task, which affected my work. The toilet has a very powerful flush, so be sure to put the lid down or it will spray you and the floor. The shower is a clear glass door, so this means no sharing the bathroom unless you are a couple and don’t mind the exposure. Installing a shower curtain would allow someone to get ready at the sink at the same time. There are several stains on the carpet. Water pressure in the shower is great, but the water pressure in the bathroom sink is not so great. The room phone does not work. No dial tone so if there were emergency, you would need your cell phone. Most of us have that anyway, but I think there’s a law that says hotels have to provide a working phone. They have a laundry room which is free to use for guests. Two washers and two dryers, high quality, new looking. But one of the washers and one of the dryers is out of order. I unfortunately had to do a large amount of dirty laundry that my college student child stuck into storage at the end of last year, so it took me several hours. I got to do laundry gor free while using the awesome gym, so I'm still overall happy with the service. I'll end on a positive note: I had morning meetings that ran over - way over - and they were incredibly gracious with no late checkout fee. Overall, this hotel is a huge win!…
We stayed shortly after the death of a close family member. Shaquan helped me solve problems large and small. She was always professional, efficient, and above all, kind. All of the staff members were great. In particular, the staff members who were on duty the evening of August 11 were so patient, helpful, and compassionate. It made all the difference during such a hard, stressful time. Please tell them all thank you for us.
Jhaquan was extremely helpful when we had a couple of issues with our room. She went above and beyond to help us which included a room change. She was so kind and thoughtful! Thank you Jhaquan you are the best!!
We wanted an out of downtown location for better value and less congestion. This hotel on Riva Rd provided both but I still believe that an average of $213/night is high. Myra was the desk clerk who greeted us enthusiastically and provided friendly conversation throughout our stay. Our room was a standard 2 Queen bed room which was clean but was cramped in many ways. This hotel is approximately 4 miles from downtown so our small retail and dining adventures were conveniently close. The complimentary breakfast buffet had varied and tasty choices. Parking was free and on-premises and didnt have an annoying no in-out restriction. We will definitely stay here again. I recommend that management consider a return guest, Senior and/or Gold Member discounts.
On a road trip from the north to Florida, we decided to overnight in Annapolis. As IHG members, we tried to search for a Holiday Inn Express or Crowne Plaza near the sights in the historic district — a task made more difficult by IHG’s continuing and inexplicable refusal to fix its app so that travelers can use it on the road without WiFi. There was nothing IHG in the historic district, but we opted for the HI Express 4 miles away. This hotel has the advantage of being next to a mall, a Whole Foods, and several restaurants. You wouldn’t have to go into downtown Annapolis for anything, but don’t miss it, really. It is a very cool colonial burg, and the MD statehouse is uniquely beautiful. We had fun eating at the Galway Pub there. The nice front desk clerk upgraded us to a king suite, which was clean snd comfy. Breakfast was hot and good, tho oddly there were none of the famous cinnamon rolls. An attendant said there might be some “next week.”…
The hotel is located within walking distance to shopping and resturants. The staff is courteous. The breakfast is pretty good. Pancake machine was broken so that option was out. Hotel could use updating. While overall I would consider it to be pretty clean, I think the place could use some deep cleaning. Carpeting in hallways needed some vacuuming. Bottom shelf in bathroom had a thin coat of dust. A little extra effort in the cleaning may have bumped up my review. Comfort of room was average.
