I had an overnight layover in Panama City and booked a room at Hotel California based on Trip Advisor reviews... Below are my thoughts: 1. Cleanliness - The room and bathroom were very clean. The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation, and I believe I was in an updated room. Definitely didn't feel the need for shower shoes, ya know?... More

A basic but well-run hotel. Our double room was very small but had a clean bathroom, quiet air conditioner and a flat screen TV. There was a very small window with no view and we heard a lot of traffic noise as the hotel is located on a very busy street. The location is nothing special but, the price was... More

We stayed here for a few days at the tail end of a trip in Central America; we wanted something clean, comfortable, and in a central location for a good value and we got all of the above. However, the best part of Hotel California is Onieva, the woman at the front desk! She was always super friendly, helpful, and... More

Well what can I say. This hotel is the noisiest I have ever stayed in. Although the beds were not too bad, the noise from the traffic was overwhelming. The restuarant is average and the food served is averaged. It does have a pool on the roof top with a few very outdated exercise equipment.

Stayed at Hotel California by the New Year. Very clean rooms, excellent service from front desk and room service. Requests were accomplished almost inmediately. Front Desk helped with hints and taxi coordination A nice restaurant into location, excellent food at a very affordable price.

Spotless room for 44$ in the Bella Vista district of Panama City. Close to everything. The reception and cleaning staff is just soooo nice. Room had all amenities i'm looking for: a/c, cable tv, wireless internet and private bathroom. Wasn't too big, but clean. There is a cafeteria in the hotel, but not a fancy one. Good enough to buy... We booked the hotel several months in advance and were quoted a price. When we arrived they informed us their rates had gone up. They said their internet had been down for 2 weeks and the whole area was affected. The internet cafe around the corner didn't seem to have a problem, though. Our room was a decent size, and... I just returned from Panama and stayed at the hotel California. I made the reservation in January over the phone and confirmed it in March right before my arrival in Panama and was quoted the same price. Once I arrived about 3:00 AM the receptionist said that the rate changed 6 hours before I arrived (an increase of over 15%).... More
