I personnally didn't really think Panama city was a very interesting capital... I was a bit bored but thanks to Casa Areka I had some fun with many cool people inside :) there is a kitchen to cook and the dormitories are confortables !

We stayed in Casa Areka for five nights. They arranged our airport transfer, which was very convenient and for the same price as the taxis. Our room was on the second floor and we shared a bathroom. We had two little issues during our stay (noisy bed and leaking air conditioning), but everything was solved within a couple of hours....

Very cozy hostel with a friendly staff and a really nice outside area with a swimming pool. The rooms were very nice, and there was free breakfast as well. It's a good backpacker hostel and you can get a lot of help with planning tours etc.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a double room with ensuite. The room was very spacious and bright. The hostel itself is nice with good common areas inside and also outside by the pool. The kitchen is well equipped. Alejandro is a cool, helpful and friendly guy. We did have a few issues with the hostel, however. For starters,...

Very good price, nice to have a hot shower and the staff were really friendly. The common area was really cosy and had a great pool and hammocks, and the kitchen facilities were good. They had a computer that the guests could use and breakfast was make your own pancakes. I felt very welcome here and the staff went out...

We started our trip through central america in Panama city, and stayed at the Casa Areka as our first hostel. The staff organized a shuttle from the airport which waited though our flight was delayed immensely. What I liked about the hostel was the common area including books, card games, a pool table - a nice place to hang out....

Location and staff are fabulous, first and foremost. But the room I booked ahead of time was gone when I got there and I slept in crappy dorm beds on my last night in Panama with my boyfriend. Very disappointing.

Lovely little hostel with a very relaxed atmosphere in a convenient location. Sure, the interior could use some love here and there but the place is clean and run by the friendliest and most helpful staff I have yet encountered. Alejandro and Andre really made our stay worth while providing us with tons of tips and information, sorting out trips...

Certainly worked for me. Loved the vibe and chill spaces. Rooms weren't done when we got there but were clean when we finally got them. They did our laundry for an alright price. Pool was nice to have same with the pool table.

When our cycle trip went down the tube after an accident in which my wife broke her collar bone, we went back to the hostel and they made room for us when the place was full. Unfortunately had a bike stolen that was locked up in the car port, so if you are cycling, lock your bike out the back!...
