This hotel has monkeys! That's almost enough to give it an excellent review by itself, but the owner also gives tours, and the boat tour he gave us of the Panama Canal was probably the best we've ever been on of the dozens I've tried all over the world. Really fantastic - swimming under waterfalls, seeing all sorts of wildlife...

We spent 4 nights at the Monkey Lodge just before Christmas. We absolutely loved everything about the lodge, the food, and more importantly the people! Fabrice, Sabrina and Max were amazing hosts, and no, we DO NOT speak French! It is true that the location is outside Panama city and a bit isolated, but it's perfect if you want to...

If you have the right expectations this place is amazing. So what should those expectations be? 1) You expect to interact with the monkeys who are amazing, although one is not particularly liking women right now, they are friendly, playful and very entertaining. 2) You expect good food and don't mind paying $17 per person for lunch and dinner... because...

My partner and I were looking for a place to stay in Panama City before heading to Red Frog Beach in Bocas del Toros. The Monkey Lodge seemed like a wonderful way to experience the jungle and it did not disappoint. We were surprised to end up with French hosts in the middle of Panama but it was a wonderful...

There were 3 of us, (39, 49 & 51) who stayed here for 16 days while attempting all the confusions of prepping for a relocation from the US. Both Sabrina and Fabrice, along with Fabrice's wonderful Mother Denise aided and advised us routinely as well as made us smile at the end of long frustrating days in Panamanian traffic. We...

Owned and operated by Fabrice & Sabrina you will feel like this is your own personal resort. Sabrina will try to get you fat with her wonderful home cooking with more than generous portions....

We stayed at Monkey Lodge in Panama during the last week of April, this year. (It was our second visit to Panama and the lodge -- we were also there in February of 2011). This year we opted to spend our entire time booked into the lodge, but went on three different excursions, organized entirely through the lodge (including 2...

So this unique French family find some land and within four years have it turned into a lovely and idiosyncratic combination of jungle & hotel. Starting with just fir trees, Sabine has added palms and blossoms that attract hummingbirds, butterflies and lizards alike. She's redesigned the house and added a pool and the cabins, which are quite delightful and fully...

The location is quite near Panama City, about 20 minutes drive. It is in a peaceful green setting, in the jungle, and very comfortable. The bungalow we stayed in was very clean and from the window with could see the monkeys playing in their spacious free area. The pool is refreshing and the French home made meals are very good....

We stayed here for 3 nights. Arrival from the ferry - were met, as planned by Max, the son of the owners who drove us (for a price) to the Lodge. The little cabins are lovely...nicer than we expected. We had hot water in shower, comfortable bed and fridge/safe. The grounds are really nice...clean pool with nice lounge chairs. There...
