This place is awesome! They have a very friendly staff and super helpful! The new manager Richard will make sure that you feel very welcomed! With their travel agency you can book anything with them! Me and my friends stayed there and felt like we were at home. They are close to the old town Casco Veijo which you should...

We've stayed there for 2 nights while on a road trip in Central/South America. PickUp from the airport was good and worth the money when you arrive late as we did. The private rooms are really really small and the one given to us smelled offensive.. a mix of mold, sweat and strawberry flavor from the air refresher. Anyway.. free...

Fabulous for the great price! Cheap to do laundry, mini supermarket within walking distance. Left for San Blas from here (set up through the hostel), all went very smoothly! Great stay, most Taxis knew where it was located!

We stayed here as we booked our boat to Colombia through them, the location isn't the greatest, but it's not far to walk to the old town and cabs are cheap - also we found the staff very helpful with where to go and prices and such. Lovely hostel, nice areas to relax and socialise, air conditioned rooms! Comfortable beds...

Well, now. Some of these reviews really are over the top as far as negativity goes. I spent three weeks travelling around Panama by public transit with my daughter. We hiked, camped, and sometimes stayed in quite primitive places with nothing but a bed, mosquito net, and a cold shower, and we mostly ate cold food. Mamallena was quite luxurious...

Not sure how this place has such good ratings. We arrived, and as it was the first place we were staying in Panama, put on a brave face. We paid for a private room and got a concrete bunker with one tiny window. The staff were ok, but not the friendliest. Additionally, the hostel's location is a really not great....

I never know what to say about reviews like this. All the points you raised have been raised before, so why did you choose to stay with us? You didn't didn't like us, fine. But were we so bad to you that you had to start advertising another hostel in the same review? And then to talk bad about us...

When we arrived the guy at reception was helpful, friendly and welcoming. The next morning there was a different guy that was rude and arrogant. Every time we asked a question he seemed terribly annoyed that we had dragged him away from his Facebook. He offered no extra information at all when we asked questions. We asked how to get...

We do apologise for that staff member. Its obviously not what we're aiming for and not what he is usually like. One particular bad day doesn't mean that he is always like that, we can all have bad days. It is unfortunate that you felt he ruined the entire stay though, enough to give us such a low rating. After...

We stayed for a few nights in Mamallena after our boat from Cartagena, it was a lovely place to rest and get sorted out before embarking on our way up Central America, really relaxed vibes. The staff are absolutely divine and willing to help you no matter what the issue, you can even practice your spanish on them! There's also...

Super friendly people and staff seem to congregate at this hostel, we were always being asked to join in on whatever was going on that day/night. Clean place, good wifi, pancakes in the morning, lots of different chill out places and a cute pool to cool off in. We stayed in the private rooms, very clean with a/c, they are...

I loved staying at Mamallena, as it had big air-conditioned rooms and lots of places to hang out! Free pancakes in the mornings, lots of board games, nice showers and a very friendly staff - good vibes in the night, but not as much to disturbe a good nights sleep! Thanks for a great stay! /C
