I don't have enough words to describe how I've felt resting in a place like the Fire Tree Hotel. It was like finding an Oasis in the middle of my trip, in the first and only eco-friendly hotel in San Salvador.

It is a family hotel where every detail is thought out and taken care of. Carolina and Teresa are the soul of this place (they are wonderful people and hosts) and all the staff who work at the hotel are friendly and professional, with exquisite attention, always with a smile on their face, they have made me feel at home.

It is a super cozy place, with super maintained facilities, the rooms are spacious and equipped, the beds are comfortable and the cleanliness is exquisite. The hotel has a large garden area that invites relaxation, you wake up with birdsong. The decoration, colors and smells, everything is designed to make you feel at peace and harmony.

They have a shop where they exhibit and sell handicrafts made by women entrepreneurs, to support them, that is part of the nice spirit of this hotel.

Teresa and Carolina have made great efforts to create a space that truly meets the requirements of an eco-friendly hotel and have achieved this, with the added complication of creating such a place in an urban space and in a country like El Salvador. Congratulations!!🙏🏻

The hotel has a perfect location to move around San Salvador, a short distance from the historic center and places of tourist interest, in a very quiet and safe area. As a woman traveling alone I have felt very comfortable!

I highly recommend it, I loved staying there!

Thank you very much Carolina and Teresa, Maribel, and all the other staff for making my stay a 10!! You are wonderful!

Great location, great nice place with great staff, breakfast, quiet street.

We were here to visit El Colegio Esparza, the Catholic school a few blocks up the street. Nice neighborhood, close to main road, traveled from here to Suchitoto and Playa El Cuco.

Up-market business people and families stay here. Swiss, French, Americans, etc., as well as Salvadorenos. Very easy and convenient. Air conditioner worked well!

The front desk were always on top of things, they’d buzz me through the front gate even when I didn’t think they were looking. One of the guys saw me looking under the car at some plastic undercoating that came loose, he came over and tried to help me identify the problem. Having been to ES twice recently, I find this to be the rule, and not the exception!

Thanks to all the staff for helping us have a great trip. We love El Salvador!

A lovely eco hotel with friendly staff and lovely rooms. Hot water is solar. Gardens used to filter and clean shower water from rainfall also used to water small gardens. Breakfast typical El Salvadorean. Plenty of dinner options nearby.

Accommodating, comfortable, clean, safe and such a pleasant stay was had at Hotel Arbol because of its location, service and beautiful setting. This small hotel bills itself as Eco-friendly but doesn't take it over the top ... you simply find yourself in a place that is a quiet respite from the hubbub of San Salvador yet near to some excellent local restaurants and convenient access points. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the garden dining setting delightful. Robert, the manager, was especially accommodating to us by providing us with this early morning meal before heading to our early morning flight...thank you Robert!

I loved all the eco features and mission of this hotel. There has clearly been a lot of effort in making this little hotel sustainable. They also provide opportunities for women through the arts. It’s located in a quiet, safe neighborhood. The room has all the essentials. I enjoyed being able to sleep with the windows open! The included breakfast is delicious in a beautiful garden. Would definitely stay again!

I've had the pleasure of staying at Arbol de Fuego many times over the past few years. It may be a small hotel but it certainly has a big heart. The staff is wonderful and welcoming, the garden is cozy and lush, the rooms are pleasant and nicely decorated, breakfast is fantastic, and the location is great with plenty of things to do close by. For me, this place is my home away from home whenever I am in El Salvador, and I am always glad to come back.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. As a young woman traveling alone with an overnight and all day layover in San Salvador, I was worried about finding a safe place in the city to spend the night, as well as getting to and from the hotel safely on a budget. The hotel arranged both a taxi pickup at the airport as well as one to take me from the hotel to the airport the next day for a very reasonable price. The room was clean, comfortable, and safe, and having access to a shower with hot water, as well as wi-fi right in the room was much appreciated. Although I didn't use them, there are also a TV and air conditioner in the room, along with the fan. The staff here could not be friendlier, and they are happy to assist you with whatever you may need. Breakfast was delicious, and sitting in the garden sipping coffee is a beautiful way to start the day. This really is a "gem" in the city, and the hotel works hard to conserve natural resources as much as possible. I felt safe, comfortable, and relaxed the entire time, and due to the outstanding help of the staff and the beautiful hotel, I ended up enjoying my short stay in San Salvador and wishing I had more time here. If I am ever able to return to the city, I know where I'll be staying.

From the moment we pulled up in front of Arbol de Fuego, I knew that I made a great choice. The place is beautiful! After I booked my room, I asked my friend in San Salvador whether it was in a 'good' part of town. He said that it was and that made me feel comfortable. We pulled up, rang the bell and the man came out to open the gate. Check in was easy. The same man that opened the gate checked me in and was able to communicate enough in English that I felt at ease. He took me down the beautiful plant lined path to my room. The key was attached to a keychain in the shape of a parrot. Cute! I got settled in the room, turned on the air (very cold), the TV (cable), and got on the wireless internet (good and fast). The bed was comfortable and the place was quiet! They provided bottled water each day also. The next morning, I went to the garden area for breakfast (included). It was great. I chose the traditional El Salvador breakfast...eggs, fried plantains (my favorite), beans, bread, fruit, cheese, juice and coffee. Awesome atmosphere! After breakfast, I asked the front desk to help me get a cab. They called and the taxi was there rapidly. If the driver works along with the hotel, it showed. He took me where I wanted to go and stayed with me to make sure I was safe...what a great deal! I stayed for two nights and it was lovely. There is a second floor patio which was just beautiful. You could also go up to the 'roof'' where the view of the San Salvador volcano was just incredible. While on the roof, I was able to watch some young men playing baseball in the field below. The gardens at the hotel were just immaculate! There was one man there taking care of all of the grounds. I had such a positive experience that when I go back to El Salvador, I plan to stay at least one night. I highly recommend staying at the Arbol de Fuego if you ever get to San Salvador!!

My wife and I stayed here for two days/nights on our way from Mexico City to Belize.

We loved this hotel. Very quaint, not fancy. Friendly, accommodating staff. Our room was well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The A/C worked great as did the shower.

Highly recommend.
