Hotel rooms are very dated to say the least! There are old nylon bed spreads and blankets on the bed. The bathroom was clean but get to the shower early! Not a lot of hot water after 7pm. Bar is tidy with a good choice of tipple. Ladies of the night adorn the bar after 10 if that's your thing...

For Westerners Kiev is a challenge, hotel standards vary a lot, prices are ranging from high to prohibitively high. Hotel RUS can be regarded as something in the middle, standard is not impressive but acceptable. The hotel is clearly old Soviet communist style. Standard and business rooms are generally small, bathrooms tiny, but it works. Breakfast buffet is a positive...

I stayed here in June 2007 and have just stayed there again on the basis of my first experience. I did all booking with the hotel by email and got the booking confirmation necessary for my visa application (which had to go to Canberra, Australia). I booked for 3 nights from 29 October, then changed to 5 then 7 nights...

It's huge, it's old, it's crowded it's not worth your money. Communist type giant hotel overlooking the brand new Kyiv Stadium (you can try to watch the Euro 2012 games from your window). The "standard" rooms are below any standard - worn out, dirty, leaking windows, squeaking beds, ugly. I've seen reviews that "business class" rooms are somehow better. Still,...

This hotel is good, and provides fairly nice service. It is also conveniently located. However don't use the bank machines in its lobby as you might not get your bank card back. That's what happened to me, and my bank was not responsible for that.

I stayed on the 19th floor in a superior room. It wasn't too big, but very comfy. Everything is well located within the room, even though the bed being next to the wall and the large cupboard right next to the bed was odd at first. Comfortable bed, especially loved the thick fluffy pillows. Other important features - good water...

I am always happy with my stays in Hotel Rus. The staff is nice and professional, the hotel has many amenities and an impressive breakfast buffet, the rooms are simple and clean and the prices (for Kyiv) are reasonable. A very good business hotel.

I stayed at the Rus for one night during my first visit to Kyiv. Based on some of the reviews below, I had low expectations, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable, and had clearly been updated fairly recently. The hotel has free wifi throughout (yes, it works!), a couple of comfortable lounges, and extremely...

Large high rise hotel in the center. Breakfast was very good. Rooms are small, like a cruise ship room. Staff friendly. Bustling place with business people and tour buses.

Myself and partner stayed in the Hotel Rus in August and we were both very impressed. Its a very basic hotel but the staff speak good English and are very helpful. The breakfast is good, no complaints in the food department. The room overall is small but very clean. It was a base and a place to lay our heads...
