The only serious negative is the lack of elevator. Spacious rooms, clean and aristocratic. Classic Romanian architecture Previously owned by a very rich Doctor Polite staff Very Good breakfast The car parking is 9€ per day

For establishing the Association of Un Viitor fără Gunoi™ (A Future without Rubbish™), it was necessary to be in Bucharest (in amongst the Demos (!)). I had to stay 1 night, the other night in Prejmer and.....Hotel Scala is fully booked, weeks in advance! I thought TAC (TripAdvisorCurse) might apply if everyone was complimentary about a place, and this is...

Amazing boutique hotel, very well placed in the city center, walking distance from almost all attractions. Rooms are big enough and beautiful in every detail. Parking place(small, but exists) is very helpful for that crowded area. Excellent service and breakfast.

The Hotel was good. The positives are the location in the center, near the metro station and the old town, the friendly staff and the cleanliness! The atmosphere is nice and it looks like a original Romanian Boutique Hotel. The only bad was the wifi connection and the old mattress in the bed. At the end of the day it was...

Excellent location, wonderful atmosphere and decoration, very courteous staff… The breakfast, especially at the 1st day of the year, was extraordinary.. Simply amazing & highly recommended for those who are looking for a hotel with character !! Just a minor complaint, not a critical one, but the bathtub was a little bit uncomfortable for a tall (1,90) person :P

Lovely from the first minute and a warm welcome from the young lady on duty. We arrived later than expected and not only did she find us a restaurant reservation a few streets away she carried one our large cases to the room. Beautifully decorated throughout with attention to detail...sweets in bowls everywhere as well as fresh fruit. Room had...

I stayed in the Hotel Scala over the Xmas/NYE break & had a superb time. The hotel has a lovely unique style all of its own, in a very central Bucharest location. Of particular note is the outstanding service provided by the staff. They made my girlfriend & I feel extremely welcome, well looked after and even provided a lovely...

I've stayed in some five-star hotels and well-known chains in my life but this was the most wonderful hotel I've probably ever stayed in and it didn't cost the earth. Obviously the basics are there - spotlessly clean, hot running water, power shower, Wifi, comfortable, well located etc - but the staff really went the extra mile to give us...

This hotel is superb. Forget the International chain hotels, this is luxury. Just 11 rooms and real character, superbly modernised but keeping the period character. Very central position, minutes away from Old Town and University Square. Quiet, warm and comfortable with twice the space you get in the chains.

With the exception of the TempurPedic mattress, it was a fantastic place to stay. Much old-world charm with modern amenities. Free breakfast. I would definitely stay here again in spite of the mattress.
