I've stayed in a number of hotels in Bulgaria and this is one of the best. It's very close the the city centre and nearly opposite the Presidency. The rooms are reasonably sizeable, very clean and well kept. Staff are friendly and efficient with a reasonable command of English. The buffet breakfast is typically Bulgarian, lots of ham and cheese...

There are certainly worse places to be marooned than this hotel in Sofia. We booked it very last minute as we were stranded and were delighted with the assistance of the staff, quality of the accomodation and proximity to the CBD and sites. Room was very spacious with large, comfy bed (one of the best we have had), separate 'sitting...

Helpful staff, walking distance to so many places of interest. Only negative the room was too warm but in January better that than cold.

I am traveling a lot to Sofia (every 2nd week) and tried many different hotels. I made some very interesting experiances, but mainly it is the very low level of service quality in most of the hotels. Hotel ARTE is a total different experiance. The service is up to International standards and extraodinary compared to usual BG standards that it...

While Sofia is not that big, we did find the Arte Hotel well placed for both sightseeing and shopping. We were here to see the sights, but we wanted to spend the last day shopping for clothes. Vistosha Street seems to be the shopping street downtown. The room we choose (we looked at three) was at the front of the...

Good beds, clean rooms and air conditioning. Nice people in the reception. The late check out didn't cost any extra, which was great!

(Just to avoid confusion: This review refers to the Arte Hotel in Dondukov Boulevard, not to be confused with the Art 'Otel in Gladstone Street.) This is an attractive, well-kept hotel in an excellent location for the sights of central Sofia. Some reviews have criticised the air-conditioning; it worked fine when we were there, on a hot day in early...

staff was nice and helpful, the room was big and well furnitured, there is even music in the (very clean) bathroom, and the location is perfect to explore the city.

I agree that the hotel did a great job in renovating the building. The location is also a real plus - you hardly can be more central than this. Now the negatives: the staff is not well trained. Everytime you have a request, they need to ask the manager. My room was nice but tiny winy - hard to move....
