Sure, it's simple, no hightech, no fancy furniture - it's not a Hilton! BUT for people who are still adventurers inside, who have outgrown youth hostels but don't want generic hotel chains, it IS paradise. So friendly, so laid-back, the building is an old South Pacific dance hall, lots of history and charm, I even saw humpback whales pass before...

Stayed there for only one night thankfully, as we had an early flight the next day. Otherwise we would definitely have sought alternative accommodation. No one at reception as it was a Sunday, but that was ok as it was clear which room we were to have. No air conditioning, and only a rickety ceiling fan and an electric fan....

I stayed at the Paradise Inn for 3 nights in November 2014. I had a split level room with the bedroom on the upper level. The room had everything I needed with a little kitchen, shower/loo and plenty of shelf and hanging space. Everyone is very friendly and in the evening it was a delight to meet fellow residents on...

I stayed here during the weekend and was disappointed to find that there were no restaurants or stores open nearby (there was also no one at reception to ask for suggestions of where to go). Ended up subsisting on peanut butter and bread from the small shop next door. Noise level at night is very high with lots of loud...

We stayed here 20 years ago and it still hasn't lost it's charm. We rented the family room and had plenty of space for the 3 of us. The weather was wet and cold so we did lots of cooking in the room. Very convenient location for shopping, the dance competition and other Constitution week events. Don't let the lack...

I came as a walk in looking for a cheap quiet room. It was just what I needed. The room was clean and serviced everyday (except Sunday). Paid only $77 a night as a walk in. Unfortunately there was only one tv channel. The shower was good. There are a few Mosquitos, but was supplied insect coils.

I stayed here for 2 weeks when my husband and I relocated to Rarotonga for his job. Tua helped me figure out where to buy fresh fish, Aliti the cleaning lady helped us when we had ants in our room (it's the tropics, what do you expect?! We never saw cockroaches though) and we were even upgraded to the honeymoon...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Paradise Inn, Rarotonga is the perfect place for travelers looking for value for money. We have 16 serviced units nestled in a peaceful location between the mountains and the sea, yet only a few minutes walk to downtown Avarua. The terrace, bar and lounge have breathtaking lagoon and ocean views and are yours for relaxing, whale watching, meeting people or enjoying a meal al fresco. A beach before the reef offers our visitors the prospect of sunbathing, a stroll along the beach, low tide reef walking and spotting starfish, coral and the small colourful reef fish that populate the lagoon. As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner on the terrace with a drink from the last "Honesty Bar" in the South Pacific where cocktails and tall tales are the order of the evening. ... more   less
