This is a lovely old place, full of charm and character, run by very friendly people who go out of their way to help. It's also in a perfect location, just on the edge of the old city but within easy reach of the new city, which is a better place to be after nightfall. Really not expensive. Good WiFi....

We stayed here for 3 nights in Montevideo. Great hotel in an old building with an old fashioned iron clad lift which is an experience itself. We requested a room on the sixth floor which has an amazing balcony with views of the rooftops of the old city. Rooms are clean but a little on the smaller side. Staff are...

Hotel Palacio has to be one of the best budget hotels we've ever stayed in! It's historic, quaint, has an amazing elevator, and our room on the top [6th] floor had a lovely terrace with views that allowed us to absorb the city. Add in its unbeatable central location. Best of all was its wonderful Spanish-speaking staff, all of whom...

We stayed here for one night on the recommendations from Trip Advisor. We couldn't believe how centrally located it was to all the fun things in Montevideo. We also couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. While the old port area is a little run down and sketchy at night, we felt like it was a good place from which to...

Our room on the sixth floor was a pleasure. There was a veranda out the French doors that offered an all dimensional view of the ciudad vieja. It was probably larger than the room. The high ceilinged bathroom had plenty of hot water and space. The sixty year old elevator was opened aired with lots of brass. We had a...

Unfortunately, I dont think I got the best room. The room had a very awfull smell specially the toilet. The bed was very uncomfortable and the sheet had hair and smell bad. The wifi was absolutely poor. There is no breakfast service. I didnt like how insisting the staff is on leaving the room key with them before leaving the...

This hotel is an old building located just a few blocks away from Teatro Solis, Plaza Independencia and other important places in the colonial side of Montevideo. The hotel is nothing fancy and does not offer breakfast, however you get good value for what you pay, the staff was very friendly and was everything we needed while getting around to...

What an excellent start to my visit to Uruguay! Situated right between Montevideo's gorgeous Old City and the restaurants and shops of the new area, you couldn't ask for a better or more central location. From here it's easy to wander the cobbled-stone streets of the Ciudad Vieja, as well as take a bus to Montevideo's inter-city bus station. When...

We stayed here for 2 days in december. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport.Just around the corner you find the old city and the Andes Museum. It is run by two lovely ladies who are eager to help you with everything. Our room was on the third floor which can be reached by elevator. Our room was...

I stayed here for 2 nights and had a top floor room with a wonderful, huge balcony. The hotel is in a great location, just a few steps from the main pedestrian street and a block from the main plaza. It has an old fashioned elevator (wrought iron grill that you can see through) which was awesome. The place has...
