i stayed there last week for 3 nights. i think they neither renovated nor painted anything in 15 years and it was kind of shabby .no comparison to a 3 star in europe. but 44 us on despegar com was acceptable in a country where you pay 4 bucks for a bottle of coke in a supermarket. dont expect anything...

This is a kind of place, you are getting more than what you pay.You are getting an accomodation plus an ugly and rude reception and management (this is the BONUS). The service was really terrible, at the front desk they were rude and not understanding English well.Actually not cheap, and not centrally located,it can be count in a budget category (but,do...

I have stayed at the Hotel Tres Cruces on severla trips and several occasions. So why all the varying reviews on TA about this place? It all depends on what you are looking for and expecting. First off, the place is "cheap", and that usually does NOT mean luxury. It equates mor eto "dorm room" in the US. And that...

We had already stayed at this hotel before, when we visit Uruguay on the winter of 2010. This time we stayed three nights and were lucky to stay in a room (604) better than the last. Located on a high floor and with a pretty good view of the city and the Rio de la Plata. The bathroom was of...

Great Price but not worth the problems ! The service was terrible from the start, the service at front desk, the attitude and bad character awful. We were a entire family booking 5 rooms, imagine, and they were rude and not very educated when it came to customer service. We were there for a wedding, and visiting Uruguay after 10...

Very special staff when...

It's a relaxed area, ideal if you have a car. Parking is for free and from there you can access everywhere quite fast. The rooms aren't nice and the carpet is stained all over. However it has an excellent value for money.

This was a nice hotel. We stayed in a Suite which was huge, especially for the £50 per night price tag. It is literally next door to the bus station, about 2 miles walk into town and 3 to the Mercado Del Puerto. As the bus station is next door you could get the bus for 25p or call a...

“The hotel management will try to stick you in the stinkest of rooms and pretend they're full so no new room will be assigned to you. DO MAKE YOUR POINT accross if you're not satisfied with the room you get. I got room 503 and when I got it it stunk to nasty cigarretes smoke and dirty carpet smells. I can't imagine what was crawling on that carpet for it was so nasty and dirty I could only see and smell goo. I made a physical complain about this and due to health reasons stated I'd sue them if they didn't give me a decent room, after all I had made this reservation online and how could I have taken a look at the room before arriving? Their excuse was, "We can't control what customers do or don't do in their rooms", talking about smoking but what about the rugs and the stench I asked? Their answer was to send a woman with a little battery operated box with aerosol spray to save the day. So they thought. No way Jose. I'm no idiot. I demanded a room on grounds for suing for being so bait and switch. I immediately got a room, (one they only sell when the hotel is fully booked, but wait, weren't they fully booked already?. See what I mean? ) I desisted from pursuing legal action but the damage was done... their insincerity was trivial to me. Mind you, I'm a Uruguayan citizen, can't imagine what they would do to you. Please beware and pay attention to these people.”

“Choose a high floor, with the view towards Santo Expedito's church in front of the hotel: nice dome. You'll get the view to the Mount Vide Eo, to the Congress, Antel's Tower and to the seaport for free.”
