Walking distance of the old town, quiet, efficient checkin, good buffet breakfast, modern (smallish) rooms, elevator, super-clean. Bus to Tres Cruces a block away in case you want to go to Colonia - or elsewhere long distance. Taxi rank close. The refrigerator contains expensive water, topped up each day, for which you are billed on checkout. Tap water is ok to drink or you can buy your own at a nearby store. Recommend if you are staying in Montevideo for a few nights - we managed to see museums, sites etc in 2 days and then took the bus to Colonia for a day.

The Hotel has a good location in the center, clean rooms, no noise. The small entrance at the reception does not favor the good work done by the employees who are there. The breakfast is good, and the proximity of the Hotel to a great restaurant on a cross street and others also nearby helps a lot. The point to ask for improvement is in the attitude of the hotel management. We were in Montevideo for the final match of the Copa Libertadores. Our return flight was delayed by one day, which forced us to stay one more night in the city. We asked to extend the reservation by one night, but the management said they would only do it with the payment of 1,000 USD. It is worth mentioning that the hotel's normal rate does not exceed 200 USD. We even offered 500 USD, offer not accepted. We had to look for another accommodation, the hotel was left with an empty unit and caused a bad memory for the guest.

This hotel is located in a very good location for all sights and for business; the staff was very courteous and helpful. For the price we paid things were better than expected. I certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone that wanted to travel on a budget. It is a well deserved 3 star Hotel and you get more than you paid for.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this hotel. Despite booking three nights, I had to check out after just one night due to a multitude of issues. The staff was exceptionally rude and unhelpful, and I am still struggling to obtain a refund. Even my friend, who had a room next to mine, had to change rooms because of various problems.

The hotel failed to provide hot water, the internet was unreliable, the location was terrible, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. None of the amenities were as advertised, and overall, the experience was far below my expectations.

I will be filing a claim with my credit card company to seek a refund, as this hotel did not deliver on any aspect of its promises. I strongly advise against staying here, as it was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent, the staff was friendly (most of them at least), the breakfast is delicious and the room was very clean and organized as well. The only thing that could be improved is the bathroom, too small.

I visited Uruguay for 7 nights with my husband, this visit was to see family & also tourism also as this was the first visit to Uruguay for my husband.
luckly I was visiting family & was only at the hotel to shower & sleep.
you get what you pay for. it's cheap
the hotel is run down, my window over looked a wall which was disappointing.
there was construction at the time of my stay so hopefully it will improve.
the hotel is in a great/fantastic location & the staff are great.
I sincerely recommend this hotel ONLY if you want to save money & only if you are staying to shower & sleep

In Uruguay there is no tourist hotel tax! Substantial discount for using credit card at restaurants, better than cash. Old and dated. Location next to Av 18 de Julio, banks and restaurants. Tango-like dancing at dusk every night in closet park to hotel on 18 de Julio. 10 minutes walk to Independence square, Theater Solon, and Old Town. 60% front desk staff spoke English well. Spanish helpful. Limited tourism info. Hotel suited for mid-range tourists, not luxury. Get an interior room! Noise from outside and other room an issue, no fire resistant walls/doors, weak ventilation. Bed good support. Temperature control difficult. A/C so so. Shower so small, you cannot wash without touching walls or curtain. Maids do a good job. Must go to breakfast early for best selection and seating. Overall a decent accommodation, but requires flexibility ad adaptability. 24 hour pass on Hop on Hop off a great tour and fantastic photo opportunities. Can start from Independence square or central port market from hotel. First day go later, scenery best Stop 8 to end. Next day go early get off at Stop 8, shop, get lunch and enjoy Las Ramblas area. If you stay too late, taxi back few hundred pesos. Also recommend Puerto Carrisco, but will require car or taxis or a lot of bus transfers and time. Free tour Sundays Theatro Solon, but so cheap anyways.

Booked this hotel for my mother who was born in Montevideo. She arrived with her friend and despite the previous front desk clerk advising he would take care and park the car (carpark 3 blocks away), the person who served her said he would not do such a thing. It was freezing and her friend parked the car and returned. The rooms side lamps didn't work, the air con wasn't functioning properly only one setting and when they were checking out there were 3 men behind the counter and not one helped my mother and her friend with the 4 luggages while her friend went to pick up the car. However, an old lady came out of the lift with one bag and they all ran to her. Terrible service, front desk extremely unfriendly despite knowing the language. Would not recommend to anyone. Awful.

This hotel was one of the most expensive hotels we stayed in in all of South America but Montevideo seemed to be expensive in general. The rooms were large enough and had recently been refurbished so were a lot nicer than the photos on the hotels own website (although I think the website has now been updated) and were therefore very clean with brand new flat screen TVs on the wall and the location of the hotel is ideal. The front desk staff spoke little or no English and took a very long time to check us in. Breakfast was pretty awful. Overall a good hotel , they just need to upgrade the breakfast and employ some efficient happy front of desk staff.

Very central location, walking distance of many attractions. Safe area. Room clean, as was breakfast area (I saw staff cleaning chairs thoroughly after breakfast) and breakfast itself great. Staff multi-lingual and very helpful. Recommended.
