Stayed 2 nights with friends. Lovely clean room with everything I could need. Best bathroom on the whole trip! Best included breakfast.. yummy fresh scrambled eggs. We were over the sweet breakfasts that we encountered everywhere else. Staff were helpful and tolerant of our very limited Spanish. I highly recommend this hotel. Easy walking distance to lots of wonderful things especially the Beatles bar on the opposite corner.
Most unfriendly, unhelpful staff. If you have kids, RUN AWAY!! The same front desk staff quoted us two different prices IN PERSON, when we made the extra effort to actually walk over to confirm with them 3 times in one afternoon. They don't speak any English, can't tell you even the size of the beds they have, and after we decided to just pay the extra $7 that mysteriously appeared on the 2nd quote, when we showed up half an hour later they were shocked we didn't have a reservation. Seriously, the lady who pumped our gas had far superior communication and people skills! Juggling 2 babies and all our belongings from rhe rental car after a long Buquebus day, we asked if we could get the kids settled in the room before bringing them passports. No go. "It is the process." Wow.…
We had a wonderful 5 days stay here. The hotel is modern, small and clean, in a great location. It`s situated in the "old city" part of Montevideo, one block away from the famous Mercado where a large range of restaurants are avaliable. The staff is friendly (but some with limited English) and the breakfast is ok (but with limited seating).
The hotel's location is within walking distance to the majority of sites in Montevideo as well as the ferry terminal, restaurants, grocery stores and an excellent bakery. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms are a bit on the small size but were very clean and comfortable.
Smallish, nicely decorated and appointed hotel. Reception staff were outstanding in their welcome, helpfulness and efficiency. The room was well appointed with good aircon. Some noise from the adjacent street did not spoil my sleep and I am a light sleeper. Location in the old town is good if this is where you particularly want to stay or if, like me, you have and early ferry to Buenos Aires (a five minute walk to the terminal). Shops and restaurants nearby. 10 minutes walk to Plaza Independencia and more extensive shopping, close to Cathedral, Museo Gurvich and other Old Town attractions. Breakfast was excellent and varied with a heavy leaning toward the sweet tooth. Buses stopping outside go to various locations such as central Montevideo, Parque Rodo and Pocitos. I'd stay…
