Hi there, Just stayed 5 nights at the Palm Beach Plaza Hotel. I enjoyed all aspects of my stay. The staff were very nice, rooms and hotel spotless, and most of all new. Two computers on the 11th floor in the small but functional Business Center and Breakfast was quick and tasty. Whats not to like.. I would recommend for those whom would like the feel of a True Neighborhood in Pocitios.

Palm Beach Plaza is a modern, very comfortable hotell that is located in the best possible location (for those who want access to the beach) in Montevideo. Situated just off the main street adjacent to the Pocitas Rambla, behind a very nice little neighborhood park, you have the Palm Beach Plaza. Close to restaurants, buses that take you anywhere in the city, shops, and of course the excellent Rambla, this hotel offers everything you would want, including extremely helpful staff who can tell you anything about this city- extremely helpful were Diego on the night shift, who becaue the smiling and friendly face of this city, and Alejandro and Sebastian on the day shift. Between them, we were fully educted and assisted in this wonderful city. Additionally, the breakfast is excellent. Fabiana, who runs breakfast, bakes fresh cookies and pastries! The cleaning staff are always smiling and welcoming you both to the hotel and to the day. The rooms are spacious, and the beds extremely comfortable. This hotel and the staff really had an extremely positive impact on our trip to Montevideo.

Located on a quiet and pleasant neighborhood very close to Pocitos Beach where you can walk or ride a bike along the waterfront. There are several bus lines that take you to the Old Town (Ciudad Vieja) and to other Montevideo districts. Rooms are comfortable with minibar, safe, LCD TV monitor, and a large twin bed. Bathroom could be bigger, but it is conveniently equipped. Breakfast room on the 11th floor is quite tiny, and it is well served. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpfull.

Very nice hotel, amazing staff - Sebastian and both Alejandros were very very nice. The room was good, the shower was good, the breakfast was good. Great location in Pocitos and close to a bus stop. I really recomend it and if I get back to Montevideo I'd stay there.

Stayed here for one night at the end of our tour of Uruguay. Really excellent reception staff who were also very helpful as regards restaurant recommendations.
The rooms are truly huge with a double sofa and writing desk at one end, with plenty of room to spare for cases. Very comfortable king size bed and good quality fittings and decor. Safe also provided. The only issue which prevented a 5 mark was the tiny bathroom which was inconveniently small and baffling when considering the space available in the bedroom.
Good selection of food for breakfast and overall a good hotel in a wonderful location, very close to the beach and restaurant choices.

We needed to be in the area and had seen this hotel while walking by. Comparing it online to others in the area it was quite reasonable and included a buffet breakfast which others didn’t. So we found it a great value. Room was on the small size but had everything we needed, AC and room was quiet, shower had good pressure and was a comfortable size. Beds were firm and extra pillows were a plus.

The included Breakfast was great with good eggs and what passes for bacon here, fresh pastry, media luna, cheese, ham cereal, fruit and juice and yogurt.

I am sure it was timing but a nice clean room with a good shower, fluffy towels and a nice breakfast for 2 under $50 feels like a find and we will be back!

Have to start by saying the attitude of the guy on the front desk (didn't get his name but he was on early evening shift in early May, 2015) left a lot to be desired. Other staff were excellent but this guy seemed offended by the presence of guests.
Our first room was so small that our suitcases would have had to double as chairs. We were moved with little fuss to a bigger room which was better, although the bathroom was very small.
Breakfast is decent enough and location is in a quiet but safe neighbourhood. The beach is just two minutes away and we walked all the way along the front to the old town (which took about two hours but was very pleasant).
I'd recommend the hotel because of its convenient location and, overall, it was clean and did the job - just don't expect any help if our friend from the front desk is on shift!

We stayed at the Palm Beach Plaza for 2 nights in early January. It’s located one block from the beach in Pocitos. Check in was very friendly and helpful (English was well spoken) and although our room was not ready as we arrived after an early flight, it was ready as promised after a short walk in the neighborhood. Alejandro (sorry, if misspelled), who checked us in, was ready to give a lot of helpful tips and pointers about the neighborhood and the city. Thanks !

Rooms are rather compact, but perfectly fine, modern, clean and with a comfortable bed; and windows that can be opened, which is great plus. The bathroom is rather compact as well, but well equipped. Water pressure in the walk-in shower was excellent. Also, minibar prices were reasonable, if that is important. Breakfast was served on the 11th floor. It’s was a small buffet, but choices available were reasonably varied and good, including some hot items such as scrambled eggs and sausages.

As for the location it is not near the historic old town, but in the safe at night and rather upscale Pocitos neighborhood and one block from the busy Pocitos beach, which for a city beach was quite pleasant. However, for practical purposes is not too far away from the historic Ciudad Vieja area, as local bus 121 at the corner of the hotel connects you directly with central Plaza Independencia and Ciudad Vieja for 23 Pesos. So, all in all a very good stay in a friendly and confortable 3 to 4 star hotel in a great neighborhood for a reasonable rate. Clearly, recommended !

Dear Mr: First of all we want to thank you for taking us into consideration at the moment of your reservation. Answering your question about the transportation, the service cost $800 (local currency) and in order to coordinate it we require the information of your flight (time of arrival, airline, flight number). Dear Mrs. Jami, Thanks for contact us. We want to know the dates of your arrival and departure to check the time of the services to Buenos Aires, so we can give to you a better suggestion. In advance, we can inform you that there are two kinds of service: one that is directly from the port of Montevideo to the port of Buenos Aires. The other one goes from the bus station of Montevideo (by bus) to the port of Colonia and then you take the ferry to Buenos Aires. The second option is cheaper, but you have an hour and a half more of travel. We are at your disposal, Regards, Margarita Dupuy Front desk
