This hotel which is located at the train station was so much more than we expected. The gardens with hidden seating areas, hammocks under the trees and an abundance of flowers, some we recognized many we didn't, was lovely. We also visited their farm where they grow produce for the restaurant and raise chickens, turkeys, pigs, rabbits & Guinean pigs....

When we stepped off the train and opened the door to El Albergue, we had no idea that we were stepping into a magical garden with such amazing food. Our room was simply decorated and clean. I loved their farm across the lane, so this is truly a farm to table experience. The breakfast was included and delicious. The location...

Do - We loved everything - location, breakfast, helpfull staff , room cleanliness, comfort. The dinner on the albergue's restaurant was amazing. Don't - nothing at all. Tip - take care of the trains' noise at night.

This stopover on the way in and out of Machu Picchu is an absolute jewel. An old house on right at the train station, it is so convenient; but more than that is is wonderfully maintained with old wood and stain. The rooms are very comfortable, the food in the restaurant extraordinary and the service and attention impeccable. It makes...

My family of four (parents, and children ages 16 and 13) stayed here for 3 nights in mid December. We had rooms #15 and #16. The rooms: Spacious and clean, with sitting area, nice bathrooms, hot showers. There were chairs for sitting out on the balcony, we had great views of garden, and surrounding mountain views, even an ice packed...

Perfectly located for discovering the Sacred Valley and the start of our four day trek in the Andes to MacchuPichu. The rooms were clean, restaurant very good and the staff super friendly. The organic garden lunch in the grounds of the hotel was magnificent!

Overall, the hotel was very nice. The restaurant was great for dinner and lunch. The hotel gardens were huge and the head gardener was very nice to give us a tour of the farm and animals. Our room, while nice, was incredibly loud (room #2). Even though the trains don't start until 5:30, the loud noise started around 4am with...

The good part was the restaurant staff chef and food. Absolutely fabulous! It was a fantastic reasonably priced gourmet experience. The chef in this small restaurant was very skilled and passionate about his food. The rooms were very nice as well and the grounds and garden lovely The bad. Some of the front desk staff seemed terribly annoyed that you...

Have you ever stayed in a hotel at an old fashioned train station?Rooms and gardens to die for plus an organic kitchen garden with all sorts of animals, flowers, vegetables and herbs. What about watching 10 super cute suckling piglets, cuys and lama's?Plus an excellent chef and in my opinion the best breakfast granola ever!

We chose to stay one night (December 12) in Ollantaytambo en route to Machu Picchu. I had read good reviews of El Albergue and liked that it was attached to the train station. We arrived before check-in time but we were immediately welcomed and taken to our lovely room upstairs overlooking the tracks. Our room had 3 single beds so...
