I'm so glad we decided to start our trip in Peru with 3 nights at Hostal Samanapaq. The location is incredible, right at the edge of town, an easy walk to everything and surrounded by incredible mountains. The hostal arranged to pick us up at the Cusco airport and drive us to Ollantaytambo, which was a beautiful drive where we... More

The room we had was a large room, but there are also small ones we sure to book / get the right one. Rooms have no tv's (there is a coax socket however). Nice space in the shower, and it takes a while before getting hot. Tip: the hotel has a central satelite television wich is (almost at all channels)... More

Enjoyed our stay at Samanapaq. Lovely large room with large bathroom. Wonderful living spaces artfully decorated, beautiful gardens. Great morning breakfast buffet and extra friendly hosts. Stowed our bags safely for our day away to Machu Picchu. Short walk to ruins of Ollantaytambo and easy tuktuk ride down to train station.

We did not expect such a wonderful casa in such a small town. We went to Ollantaytambo by car from Cusco. The car stopped outside the Casa and the driver rang the bell. The door opened and the car was driven in. We were stunned that the world inside was completely differently from the outside. It seemed that we entered... More

Wonderful location, just off-the-beaten-path. Excellent staff all around. Thanks to the chap at the front-desk and to the lady who owns the property.........and a pat on the head of the super friendly Brazilian dog who hangs out in the pretty gardens and courtyard. Quiet, basic rooms. Good shower. Nice heavy blankets. Clean accommodation. We especially appreciated the excellent breakfast served... More

This hostal is hidden at the base of the mountains in ollantaytambo just a mile from the train station (walking distance all downhill but the return would be uphill obviously). You would never know it existed behind the origional Inca courtyard wall and large locked door unless you had read a review as I had done. Therefore, I am writing... More

Had to be the best we have stayed in so far in Peru it was quiet and very friendly staff and very helpful. The gardens are very pretty and found a lovely sun trap to relax in for a couple of hours. Would really recommend this place to stay whilst in Peru

We stayed in Samanapaq for 4 nights and it was terrific! The property is beautiful with lush gardens, comfortable sitting areas and bright comfortable rooms with 24 hour hot water. Luciano, Mariela and the entire staff are very helpful. Breakfast is served in a beautiful little restaurant and the fresh breads, pastries, fruits and huevos to order each morning were... More

I have chosen it based on Trip Advisor reviews and it lived up to its stellar reputation. first of all booking - email communication was perfect, we got a discount for not using booking sites. We asked for transportation from Cusco airport as I was concerned about feeling altitude sickness right away and not being able to deal with the... More

Friendly enough place with a quite pleasant garden. Rooms are pretty basic, but I had a good shower. The heater was much needed. Wifi is poor and doesn't make it to the rooms, but then the whole village had weak wifi. Annoying to have to knock at the main door to be let in every time, although I guess it... More
