Friendly, helpful staff and good, clean, comfortable, and affordable accommodations in a safe neighborhood (Miraflores). I tried another hostel in the area and it was awful. I stayed about a month and this is now the only accommodation I will even consider on future trips to Lima.

I was a member of the World Challenge team and we landed in Lima at 6pm on 22nd July 2014 and we arrived at the Hostel. We were greeted and shown our rooms immediately. We thought it was really comfortable and was a great relaxing way to start our expedition in Peru. Thank you Jose Luis x

The staff was very accommodating when we arrived without a reservation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath suite for four people (1 double bed in one room & two twin beds in the other). We were able to pay in American dollars as well. The location is a bit removed from the center of Miraflores but it is...

The area around the hostal is extremely nice and quiet and it is only a few blocks into central Miraflores where there is a plethora of dining and shopping options. The rooms are relatively spartan but certainly very comfortable for this price in Lima. Most importantly though, the staff, though only speaking minimal english, were extremely helpful and willing to...

Couldn't ask for more: a good room in an excellent, quiet neighborhood a bit removed (but an easy walk) to the major attractions of Lima Flores (Kennedy Park and the beach). Breakfast is just coffee, bread, and jam, but for these room prices it's easy to treat yourself and walk around the corner to Don Mamino for fancier fare and...

Great place to stay. the place is very elegant and fells more like a hotel. The rooms were very nice and had a fridge, tv and private bathroom! For about $50 (for 2 people) this is a great deal trust me. I paid about $35 to stay in a much lower grade place with none of the above mentioned. There...

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood lies this hostal of great fame. Once owned by Jose Luis himself and now renovated by the new owners. Very well priced and includes a small breakfast. The positive points are as follows: free wi-fi, free use of the kitchen ( there is a huge supermarket 4 blocks away), secure neighborhood (Miraflores), close to...

Jose Luis was fine for what we wanted in Lima. But the best thing was that Gladys Villavicencio Atoche, one of the receptionist, is also a travel agent. She planned our entire three weeks in Peru for a very, very reasonable fee and we had no problems. And no hassles, since all our tickets, hotels, etc., was paid for and...

the place is like a maze and the additions are built very rinkydink. The room we stayed in was not the best, event for just sleeping. The dogs & traffic kept me up all night. Breakfast is very basic, consisting of bread, butter/jam, coffee or tea. They have a kitchen you can use to make food.

As a novice travel consultant and with everyone wanting to travel today, it is still very important to find economical, clean, safe places, I wanted to stay at Hostal Jose Luis to see if I could help others have a great vacation in Miraflores area without spending alot of money for a good nights sleep.
