You can't imagine the gardenparadies and the pool with the cool refreshing water if you reach by tuktuk the outside of casa fitzcarraldo and the area around. But if you take a look above at the outside roof, already a lot of jungle plants startet to grow. Walter the owner is very supportive in all questions you have and you'll...

La Casa Fitzcarraldo is an oasis in the city! wonderful stay! thank you walter you and your crew are great hosts. I also enjoyed very much to learn about the films that where produced on location. The tree house is an attraction in it self. Wonderful sun sets.

Somehow, Walter has created a garden of Eden in the depths of the amazon jungle in iquitos. His little paradise offers travelers a wonderful, soulful, character-full refuge where the welcome is wholesome and the food is the best you'll find in peru - fillet steak, amazon fish, chicken - all cooked on the charcoal grill, and cevice not to be...

the place is a guest house style run hotel with comfortable spacious ( non air con) rooms, lush tropical vegetation, and a refreshing pool, while hanging in one of the hammocks you can listen to cool ambient sound.they also offer delicious food and the staff is friendly and helpful. enjoyed my stay there very much. the ambiance compensates for the...

The prize is too high for the experience and the location. The swimming pool what dirty? The food very expensive and not good (Example: a Chicken soup $10 dollars). We wanted to eat in the hotel (because it is much too far from downtown) and they only served food until 6pm!!! When we arrived to the hotel, they just opened...

This casa is not westerners 3 star, its more like a 1-2 star from back 'home' but as Iquitos standards go its got a lot of plus sides. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, albeit basic. The staff are super friendly, when you can locate them, take note, this is not somewhere that you're going to get waited on hand and...

Casa Fitz initially has a nice calm and cool vibe when I first came, especially with the nostalgia of the history of the place. I like the tree houses and pool, the food was decent, the accomodation was good for Iquitos...but it all seemed way overpriced. I read a review that was titled "faded luxury", and I agree with this....

It pains me to write a bad review but this one is deserved. I had several emails back and forth with the owner (I assume) and had a reservation in place for a certain room at a certain price. Upon arrival I was told that someone else had offered full price for that room and we were being moved to...

Casa fitzcarraldo is a tranquil oasis in the middle of the hectic iquitos. Walter turned this hotel into a huge garden with pool and a treehouse. Rooms are amazing and the treehouse is huge!!! Perfect stay , delicious food and good wifi. The staff is very friendly and the beer cold. This place is a must stay in iquitos!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
LA CASA FITZCARRALDO, birthplace of the Werner Herzog films Fitzcarraldo & Aguirre, offers an unique and unrivaled housing and jungle oasis Whether you are coming to Iquitos for volunteer work, a jungle adventure, a medicinal Ayahuasca quest or just to get away from it all, we offer like-at-home accommodation , including the naturally cooled swimming pool without chlorine, thanks to ECOsmarte, the most advanced pool water treatment technology on the planet . If you are already in Iquitos, we are open from nine to six daily. Come enjoy our great food, drinks, & lounge about, even in our impressive four-level treehouse with panoramic views and great sunsets. A dense and diverse arrangement of indigenous plants and plenty of orchids highlight the property. Birdwatchers are often impressed with the species they come across, especially up top our tree house. At night you can hear our jungle chorus, unlike any hotel in Iquitos-Peru. ... more   less
