This hotel is a decent place to stay and is quiet in a very loud city. I have stayed in many hotels in Iquitos over the years and if your room faces the street it can be very hard to sleep. The tuk tuks are quite loud and seem to go at all hours. Rooms are nice enough and the... More

There are three El Dorado hotels in Iquitos, quite close to eachother. This one is close to Plaza de las Armas. The staff is well intended and pleasant, but clueless and disorganized - you'd better print your reservation and come with it printed to the hotel, otherwise they will put a surprised look on their face and not find you... I booked a room there that was to have internet. After flying for 18 hours, I wanted to let folks at home know I was OK either through Skype or email. No WIFI signal (their signal ID is clave). They gave me a password but since their signal was missing, I could not log on. I called the front desk... More

I stayed in this hotel and was rather wary having read some previous reviews. It is a pain there being no lifts particularly if your room is on the 3rd floor but that aside, the hotel has good ac, hot water in abundance and a reasonable breakfast. It even has a shuttle to the airport.

I enjoyed my first couple of nights here, it was a bit of an oasis in an otherwise crazy environment of the Peruvian Amazon. This three star is good and clean. The only issue is the noise from the clubs that bang on over the weekend nights. My suggestion would be to book the bottom most level rooms as they... More

My father broke a glass at breakfast, and el dorado staff proceeded to harass him and cause a scene (including bringing in 2-3 staff at once) to tell him he must pay for the glass. What a horrible experience and my father was made to feel like a criminal and also pay for the glass. I have never been to... More

stayed here for one night before heading to Ceiba Tops, room carpet very dirty and no hot water, plus no elevator and we were on the 4th floor - was acceptable for one night and staff was generally OK, breakfast was one of the better ones, but for any length of stay there have to be better choices

This is a very nice hotel. It has two attributes: 1) location and 2) an excellent restaurant. However, it you are not able to converse with the front desk in Spanish, GOOD LUCK! I try my best with my "tourist Spanish", but while travelling, I have always relied on the staff at a first rate hotel to speak English. Not... More

I have been travelling to Iquitos for the last 3 years and this is the hotel that my company books for us. Pros: There is a free shuttle to and from the airport. It is centrally located. Cons: If you get a room facing the street you will have to wear earplugs. Hot water (remember to try both taps in... More
