This wasn't at all like I imagined a hostel, having never experienced one. It was clean as a 5 star hotel. Quiet and looking out over beautiful tile rooftops, and a chapel on the hill in the distance. The location is perfect walking distance around...More
Our room was very large with a futon for lounging. Very clean, no complaints. One night it was a little rowdy, but most nights it was quiet. Breakfast was good enough for taking the edge off, some eggs, cereals, coca tea, fruit, meats, cheeses and...More
Arrived at 6 a.m. after a night bus ride and happy to know that our room, although it's quite small, would be ready at 6:30 a.m. so that we could take a rest. Basic breakfast is included. When enquired about Machu Picchu Tour, a tour...More
I stayed here for a couple of nights while I checked Machu Picchu of my bucket list. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was fine. Make sure you get a top-floor room to take advantage of the magnificent views.

Hello, As far as I remember the train station is out of the city so I would recommend to take a taxi (actually I dont think there is other way to get there). There are two train station, one is called Ollanto and other one which is like half way from Cuzco to Aguascalientes.
Hostal el Triunfo is situated very close to Plaza de Armas, so the main centre of Cuzco.
Concerning Machu Picchu, I totally recommend to go to Aguascalientes one day before going to MP. This is the only way to see MP in the morning and avoid crowds. You can take a bus that takes you to MP at 6 o clock in the morning.
Have fun! :)))
