The Carlos V is not going to impress you at all. It's and old hotel with lots of stairs (in Cusco) and run-down carpet and little amenities. The service is OK and the staff was helpful. It has a good location at 1 block from the Plaza de Armas, very centric to Cusco activities. if you like the club and...

The hotel has been refurbished and is like brand new now. All new parquet floor, New mattresses and very large. The staff is very nice. The hotel's manager helps in everything that need. The hotel is very clean all the time. Definitely worth the cheapest price. We Really enjoyed stay here!

Before going to Machu Picchu and while visiting some inca cities, we were placed in this hotel by our travel agency. For U$35/night we should have stayed in a different place. It all seemed old (Carlos V must have lived there...). The room was too small and our spring bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was also tiny and the shower...

We used this hotel as our base while in Cusco. While the staff were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful, I found the hotel itself a little shabby. It gets quite cold here at night but the bed linen was inadequate and only had 1 tiny pillow per guest - we were asking for extra pillows on a daily...
