This is a really nice hostal, and i have seen many. Most places don't have that great of beds or great bathrooms, this place had really nice beds and really nice blankets with down feathers, and cusco can get realllllly cold at night so this is important. I had to check is at 10:30 am, but you can store your...

A great place to stay at the border of Cuscos historic center. The vibe is friendly with laid-back atmosphere and a nice little common area to browse the internet. Breakfast is simple but you can have eggs or omelettes for 2-5 soles. Hot water depends on the mood of the shower.

For everyone who wants a comfortable, quiet and clean hostel in Cusco, the Mama Simona is definitely a good choice. A night in a dorm (4 beds, shared BR) is S33 (more expensive via Hostelbookers). The beds I had were super comfy and there are lockers directly in the rooms. For people who want to go on a Machu Picchu...

It is a very nice place. The bedrooms are great, with nice beds, very clean. They cleaned up each bedroom every day, what is unusual in hostels, but well, great! Everyone is very nice, always been helpful, giving tips about Cusco, giving a hand in every problem. The location is great, near enough of the center so you can easily...

Mama Simona was a fairly good hostel. Welcoming, well structured, run by very friendly people. Beds were very comfortable and rooms had plenty of space to move around. Only problem was the shower. Water pressure and temperature are always changing and some people in my room had to take cold baths because of it. I did not go through this...

My brother and I stayed at Mama Simona for three nights, the first two in a private twin with a private bathroom, the third in a 4-bed bunk room with a private bathroom. The location is really perfect, and the hosts were overall helpful and accommodating. Everything was clean as well. I would caution, however, that while Simona is no...

Real nice place to stay, really cool vibe friendly staff. Cleanliness was of a high standard. Price very reasonable. Stayed in double room which was of a good size. Listen to the advice of not getting drunk on the first night because the walk back is a killer at that altitude When i make it back to Cuzco this place...

A great place to stay. Short walk to Plaza de Armas yet far enough way to escape the intense touristy atmosphere. Common area very chill and a nice place to gather your thoughts or just take a break. Room I stayed in was a private dorm with a bunk bed and bathroom. Perfect size for 2 people who want their...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is named after the sacred peak Mama Simona – the only female mountain deity among twelve others surrounding Cusco. Mama Simona Hostel is like a good conversation over a cup of coca tea rather than a wild party; a comfortable and welcoming refuge away from the standard “just-another-hostel” kind of place; simple wooden furniture and lots of room rather than cramped kitschy interiors. Staying with Mama Simona is like being invited into the warmth of a Peruvian home. ... more   less
