We stayed here twice, for three nights in total (and in two different rooms) on our honeymoon It's not the most luxurious of hotels, but it is good value for money and makes a good launch pad for seeing Cusco and the surrounding area. The location is good, a safe and relatively short walk (ten minutes if you are taking... More

Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi has a great location only three blocks from the Plaza de Armas. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable and quiet. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. I appreciated the complimentary hot coca tea available 24/7 in the lobby.

Their Scrambled eggs are the best we've had. 24hr coca tea was much appreciated. Lovely wide beds, so comfortable! The reception staff spoke excellent English and assisted us very well. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We stayed two nights at Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi (5/28&5/29/13). It is located 3-4 blocks from the Plaza. The neighborhood is basic, but we felt very safe walking back and forth to the plaza during the day and at night. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was delicious and there were lots of choices. The room... More

We stayed for three nights as part of a self arranged tour of Peru, and could not have been happier. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Plaza de Armas. It was an easy walk to all the main sites we wanted to see in Cusco other than the ruins on the outskirts of the city. There... More

My wife, myself and two other friends stayed at Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi mid May -- for several days prior to our Inca Trail hike and then following our return from Machu Picchu as well. We stayed at two places in Cusco - a "5 star" property and the Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi. In hindsight, we should've spent the entire time at just the latter. The hotel was extremely comfortable and clean. Location and breakfast were good. Only complaint was that the wifi was sometimes spotty in the guest rooms, but there was a free... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our hotel in Cusco is located in what used to be an elegant colonial residence. Throughout the hotel you’ll find a charming contrast between this imperial city’s rich history and modern convenience and comfort. Our spacious rooms are an invitation to rest, offering the ideal place to refuel and start a new day of exploration and discovery. As was characteristic in large colonial residences, our hotel has two interior patios where our guests can relax during a sunny afternoon or enjoy a soft breeze at the end of the day. ... more   less
