This was a delightful place to stay and one of my favourite places in Peru. They gave me a room right at the top as I requested, which was a little cold, but the morning view was spectacular and worth it. The room was big, the showers hot, the breakfast very welcome. The staff were helpful and refunded me the...

We stayed for 3 nights and we totally loved it! Our room directly on the terrace was clean, very comfortable and sunny! Hot water was available all the time, and free wifi is sufficient. The included breakfast on the terrace is simple but good with an astonishing overview of beautiful Arequipa and the two amazing volcano mountains Chachani and Misti....

We stayed 2 nights in early August and thought the Solar was perfect! The Hostal is within a short walk to the Plaza and major sights of Arequipa, but once we were inside, we felt removed from all the traffic and noise. The entrance opens to an attractive courtyard, and our room (#103) was spacious and nice, with a fireplace...

We had a wonderful stay here. Our room was 302 at the top of the hotel with great views. The roof terrace where we had breakfast was lovely and sunny and fine staff were very friendly and helpful. If you can, try and get a room higher up as they are lighter.

You have to be buzzed in. Once inside by reception there is a private courtyard. On level 2 where you have breakfast is where the view is. All I can say is WOW. Snow capped mountains! Rooms are basic but comfortable. Town is a short walk. There is however a nice bakery almost opposite the hostel entrance. The bakery is...

This is the best hostel we have stayed in for a long while. Beautiful courtyard and balcony make you want to give up on sightseeing and trekking and just laze around the hostel. Big clean rooms, reasonably priced. Very secure and only about 4 blocks to the main plaza. Great service as well - what more could you ask for!

This hostal offers nice clean rooms, super friendly service, good breakfast, and extremely convenient location. You can walk all over town to many of arequipa's main attractions. The staff was readily available, very helpful, and always friendly. They even helped me with my bus ticket and a colca canyon tour. I would recommend Hostal Solar to any of my friends....

Rooms and bathroom are nice and clean and at least mine had no window to the street so it was quite as well. The staff was really helpfull and the breakfast was good ( but you have to pay for extras like pancake). Recommend!

We stayed here twice on our Gadventures tour. The first visit we were given a lovely light, bright, airy room on the 1st floor next to the breakfast terrace. Beds were comfy with a good ensuite bathroom and it was pretty quiet. Our second room was a triple on the ground floor. While the room was clean, it was dark...

We stayed at Hostal Solar for four nights while in Arequipa. The hostal is conveniently located near the main square and all the mayor tourist attractions. The biggest plus for this hotel is the nice roof terras were the buffet breakfast is served and were you can enjoy a nice break from the noisy Arequipa traffic during the day (buy...
