A very charming place to stay, close to everything and with charming old style rooms and furniture with real class, a good breakfast and nice garden as well. A great place to stay if you spend a couple of days in town...

The rooms are all different, each with charming details, and situated in different buildings in an eclectic and labyrinth-like layout sprinkled with gardens and little courtyards where one can rest after a long day or take a break during the day. It's buffet breakfast is served near the most beautiful garden full of flowers. Original this address was the home...

This is a hidden gem. It is beautiful inside with a great staff. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired, but there is one. The Hostal is walking distance to many of Arequipa's attractions. I was in Arequipa in the winter. The rooms seem to not have heat or cooling, but it is temperate enough. The bead have many covers...

We arrived two days ahead of original reservation and we were happily greeted with a room. Fantastic location right in the center of historic Arequipa. Within walking distance: 10 minutes to Santa Catalina Monastery, less than 15 minute walk to Plaza de Armas, and less than 20 minute walk to Yanahuara. Absolutely fantastic rooms. Simple yet sufficient breakfasts. Very nice...

This hotel was very relaxing. Nice owners with a good solid breakfast. The rooms have huge high ceilings which stay cool. The place is very clean and well maintained. Its in a good location with easy access to the central Plaza and the key sites around Arequipa. Best of all - it really feels like you are staying amongst history...

This hotel is in a beautiful old building where the bishop once lived. The room we stayed in was around a central courtyard; it was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was served on a patio overlooking the garden which was lovely in the morning sun. The breakfast, which was included, was comparable to other breakfasts we have had in Peru. The...

I loved this hostel and I would love to stay again if I return to Arequipa. The beds were very comfortable and this is the only hostel I stayed at in Peru that had a hot water tap in the bathroom sink (not just the shower). All the staff here were very friendly and helpful. The buildings and courtyard were...

La Casa de Melgar Hostal is a good value. They have complimentary breakfast and free wi-fi. The buildings look original and the aesthetics make this hostel feel like it's part of the monastery. It's got a almost whimsical feel. The bathroom needs updating. We had to turn the sink faucet a couple times just to get a little water to...

The colony building is nice but trust me, there are many better choices in Arequipa. Direct booking with hostel 3 months ahead and confirmed it a week before arrived. However the reception people couldn't find our reservation. Luckly there is one left, but we both got bedbugs bite on hands and body. Double bed is quite small. And you could...

It really looks like it does in the pictures, lovely. The rooms are not as beautifull as the common areas, but it is just what you need and expect to find. Close to everything (walking distance). It is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside.
