The location is fantastic, just a couple of blocks walk from the Plaza d armas and a wide range of restaurants available all around the hostel. Reception staff are not friendly at all, they barely engage with customers and regularly making mistakes with prices and wake up calls. However, ladies serving breakfast are lovely, nice warm greeting when you arrive.... More

We have stayed at Le Casa De Melgar for 2 weeks. A great experience, clean rooms, very friendly courteous staff at the desk, breakfast and people working to make the place hospitable and clean. Breakfast was good, (coffee could be stronger) The restaurant attached to the lobby, Il Fornellino was fresh and tasty and worth the visit for many reasons...The... More

We spent 2 nights there and liked the detailed decoration of each room, the good breakfast and sunny garden and patios! Some rooms can be a little dark, but since we spent most part of the day sightseeing, this wasn't an issue. The location is central and great to explore most of Arequipa's sights. I would definitely come back and... More

The Casa is ideally situated, just blocks from the famous and fabulous Plaza de Armas. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, and the mudejar touches in the entry and courtyards were gorgeous. Breakfast was satisfactory, though without eggs to order.

I needed a place to stay in Arequipa to wrap up my 2 week trip to Peru, which included the 4 day Inca Trek. I saw this place listed on the web, and I thought, wow, looks nice, seems too good to be true. But the reviews were all top and the pictures showed a great deal of old-world charm.... More

A very charming place to stay, close to everything and with charming old style rooms and furniture with real class, a good breakfast and nice garden as well. A great place to stay if you spend a couple of days in town...

The rooms are all different, each with charming details, and situated in different buildings in an eclectic and labyrinth-like layout sprinkled with gardens and little courtyards where one can rest after a long day or take a break during the day. It's buffet breakfast is served near the most beautiful garden full of flowers. Original this address was the home... More

This is a hidden gem. It is beautiful inside with a great staff. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired, but there is one. The Hostal is walking distance to many of Arequipa's attractions. I was in Arequipa in the winter. The rooms seem to not have heat or cooling, but it is temperate enough. The bead have many covers... More

We arrived two days ahead of original reservation and we were happily greeted with a room. Fantastic location right in the center of historic Arequipa. Within walking distance: 10 minutes to Santa Catalina Monastery, less than 15 minute walk to Plaza de Armas, and less than 20 minute walk to Yanahuara. Absolutely fantastic rooms. Simple yet sufficient breakfasts. Very nice... More

This hotel was very relaxing. Nice owners with a good solid breakfast. The rooms have huge high ceilings which stay cool. The place is very clean and well maintained. Its in a good location with easy access to the central Plaza and the key sites around Arequipa. Best of all - it really feels like you are staying amongst history...
