This is a very comfortable hostel with clean, spacious rooms, a suntrap balcony and an ideal location a 15 minute walk from the centre of town. The staff don't speak English, but why should they......? I should learn a bit more Spanish! Breakfast was pretty basic but the coffee kept on coming and for the price, no complaints! The main... I paid a really low price of 35 Soles for a big private room with a comfortable double bed, private bathroom and a flat screen TV. This is the best room I have stayed in during this trip, and at that price, a crazy bargain! The location couldn't better - a short walk from the center yet in a quiet,... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in a dorm. At first the hostel looked clean, but the bathroom turned out terrible. The toilet was clogged and it was disgusting. Also they didn't provide enough toilet paper. The breakfast was very very basic, which is fine of course....but I even found hairs in the butter. On the positive side, the hostel... More

Good beds Tv in room (which has english channels eg HBO) Great shower and hot water! Great room (we stayed as a group of 4 in a 5 bed dorm with private bathroom). Bright... More

Service/price in the hotel is OK, except receptionists barely speak any English. However, my wallet with all my documents and a lot of cash was stolen from my locker over-night at this hostel. In our room, there was me and 3 friends only, no one I would not trust. Unfortunately, I forgot to lock the locker (my mistake) but still,... More

Compared to other hostels that I got to look into in Arequipa, this one is clean, fresh, cosy and provides well for what you need. It's a little more expensive than others by maybe S/.5 - and others for example will provide a towel, or use of the kitchen, where Mochileros, want S/.5 more - the sort of "yes we... More

I'm here right now in the Living room, small dorms, clean & quiet. Only 3 blocks from the plaza and has a great balcony view of the volcano :) pay extra for towels and to use the kitchen- that why the 4 stars and not 5. Pool table, big kitchen, hot water :)

This hostel looks like a total winner from the outset. Amazingly well stocked kitchen, clean, modern rooms and bathrooms, murals on the walls, fast WiFi etc. Do not be fooled by the "beds and rest" motto of this hostel. When we came to see it and accepted the room (Sunday) we did not realise there was a building site with... More

We are (actually currently) staying at Mochileros for a 4 day period, and find the facilities very appropriate, there are common areas, breakfast is included, the rooms are rather spacious and clean, bathrooms freshly renovated, the staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great - a 7 minute walk from the main square, but off the party track (and... More

It is clean, cosy and the rooms are great. The dorms have big lockers and the showers are actually hot (I burned myself :-P ). I got sick and the receptionist called a doktor, and they cared about me. The common rooms and terras are nice, and have a lot of games. Only downer is that they are constructing nearby,... More

“Try to get a room as further as possible from the "insides" of the hostel.”

“I think the hostel moves you around a little, if they say have a booking for 4, and there are only 2 in your room, so be prepared for them to ask you to move, especially if you extend your stay. Arequipa is so beautiful that you could well extend!”
