I stayed at Turista del Mundo for six weeks this summer when I returned to Cuenca. I lived in Cuenca for a year previously and also spent time in this hostal then. The owners, Wilson and Esperanza are amazing, super friendly and helpful. They live across the street and are always ready to help you with anything you might need....

I was attacked inside my room at night in this hostel. They assaulted me, tried to steal my camera then broke it instead. The person was a long time resident and friends with the owner so although there were tons of witnesses and I went to the police the owner interfered and covered for the attacker. The owner promised to...

We stayed in the top floor in the corner with a view of the river. The room was typical of a $7 per night hotel in Ecuador. There were a few other guests, but noise wasn't a problem. The kitchen was adequate. The owner was super nice and accommodating. Highly recommend for a cheap stay.

Good location Our room was large and airy with plenty of windows and clean. We went for the shared bathroom and had no problems at all. I can understand that it could be a bit noisy should the other customers begin to kick off but we had a very comfortable stay. Lots of room in the courtyard to change the...

I really wanted to like this place. Winston, the owner is such a nice man, but there's no noise control here. Unfortunately, I cut my stay short by one day because of a group of drunken partiers. They made all kinds of noise throughout the early morning hours and my attempts to get them to shut up just seemed to...

I stayed here 2 times for a week. One week I had a nice room with private bathroom for $10 and another week a great room (big and good view) with shared bathroom for $7. The place is relatively quiet. Wifi excess all over the place, nice views, kitchen, very friendly and helpfull hostal owners. Best place for my budget...

A great little hostel. I lived here for two weeks while taking Spanish classes at Amauta (just a few blocks up the road). Good private room for $6/night, a decent kitchen (no stove, but clean), Wi-Fi (best on upper floors), and shared bathroom (some with a little mold on the shower curtains), and two excellent common rooms with an outstanding,...

We stayed at Hostal Turista del Mundo for a week in November 2012. Although the amenities are basic, the room was clean and the rate included towels and soap. (We paid about $20/night for a room with a double bed and private bathroom.) The two common areas on the top floor offer picturesque views overlooking Cuenca and the Tomebamba River....

We had a great stay at Hostal Turista del Mundo. It is an excellent location, right in Calle Larga, where there are a number of good restaurants and bars. Wilson and his wife were possibly the happiest hostal owners we have ever met! Very cheerful at all hours of the day and night, and willing to help and provide info...

The Hostal is very central, rooms are basic but clean. Don't expect a comfy hostel: the common areas are unfortunately not very cozy: the kitchens and the common bathrooms are not clean. There are some basic cutlery and dishes in the kitchen, but you basically have to fight for a mug. The owners are basically absent (they live in the...
