My room #3 was dark - there were windows but enough natural light could be generated from them. The hallway light is left on until 10 - 10.30 pm and someone comes thumping along to turn the light off and closes the shutters. The bed was extremely hard and made for an very uncomfortable sleep - not good if one... More

Great little hotel. The history and location of the place can't be beat. Staff are friendly and the lobby mind blowing. Beds are a bit hard but not bad. Only real down side is the noise of the street (or lobby depending on the side). That being said, would definitely stay again if in Quito.

We stayed here before and after a trip to Galápagos- the room was adequate, the wifi was terrible and the breakfast was mediocre at best. Having done some research we found much better value elsewhere where all the above mentioned were not an issue at all. Would suggest doing some research before staying here as we found another alternative which... More

Right in the heart of historic Quito and it seems to be the only hotel. With a long history of itself. Very romantic courtyard and overall setup. Many staircases, see-through and great city view from the very top. Go and see. Felt safe given the permanent closure of the main entry fence and the 24 hrs front desk. Helpful staff... More

The patio is lovely, the people at the reception helped us with everything (taxi, restaurant reservation). The hotel has very nice, clean and big rooms. A little bit humid (but we came in rain season) but not a big problem. There are security boxes that you can use for free and water dispenser. Breakfast is not great but fair for... More

The courtyard was spacious and beautiful. Location is stellar. Good, real coffee and typical simple breakfast. The room was spacious but the beds were rather saggy. Wifi only available in courtyard, not in rooms. There appeared to be many floors of rooms, I imagine a room on the 4th or 5th floor might be pretty sweet, with views and all.

Nice building and good porter! Breakfast is poor. Excellent location, right in the middle of Quito, Ecuador. Spacious room with XXL beds! Television with many channels though no english ones. Good internet. - Jan en Sebastiaan

Very charming hotel within walking distance of several sight seeing locations such as La Compania, Grand Plaza and La Ronda. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I stayed here twice, the first time I got a room on the second floor closer to the Main Street and found it slightly noisy. However the second time I got a room on the... More

Beautiful hotel in the heart of old Quito. You really can't find a better location for the historic center. The hotel itself is pretty and comfortable with nice shared sitting areas and friendly, helpful staff. As others have commented, some rooms can be a bit noisy with the sounds of people coming and going. The breakfasts leave something to be... More

I stayed at HSFQ for four nights before and after a business trip. My company has been using the hotel for about ten years now, but it was my first time in Quito. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, with so much character and in a prime location in Centro Historico, a short walking distance from all of the best... More
