The rooms are Ok, a little bit dated. They have only 4 rooms. Our was a private room with bathroom and kitchen. We did not use the kitchen except for the refrigerator. I like the location because it is within walking distance of loads of restaurants and close to the plaza. It is a safe location. The Magic Bean closes...

Nice hostel with great ice cream and breakfast. The room was nice but it was quite loud. Other than that, I highly recommend it. The location in Plaza Foch can't be beat if you're looking for good restaurants and nightlife.

We ended up going to The Magic Bean three times while in Quito. The coffee was excellent as were the huevos rancheros and the pancakes. Service was top notch, and place was clean and friendly, and ... the americano!!! Yes. Prices are fair. Ola!!!!

We read a good recommendation and prices (14.50 usd dorms and doubles 36 usd) of this place in the Rough Guide, so we decided to head there. We were traveling by bus from Colombia and got there at late hours in the night around 11pm. We asked the person at the counter for the price of the room and he...

I ate at the restaurant most days when I was in the area and, although they have an occasional blip, it struck me as mostly good fresh food served well. Very reasonably priced menu, good atmosphere, comfortable, and although service is sometimes slow that is not unusual in Ecuador.

Avoid this place. The service was awful, food crap, and when I complained they laughed. This place is just a tourist trap and the don't care about service or anything else, just the money. There are many hotels in Quito that are far better -- and many of those are just a few meters from this dump. THUMBS DOWN!

Loved this terrace restaurant! Had a lovely, balmy evening here with nice wine and yummy food! A popular place so there was a buzzing but relaxed atmosphere and friendy service. A good choice for more than just tourist fare!

Had a dinner there. Priced a bit on a higher end given the touristy lication, but the menu options and the food quality and representation were very good. Excellent service. Liked the all-natural freshly squeezed juices as well.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my girlfriend. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts are basic but good. The "new town" neighborhood wasn't really our thing but the hostel was perfect for our 2 night stay.

We stayed in the private rooms at the Magic Bean. They were a great value at $40 for a couple and $25 for a single. Very helpful staff, breakfast included. It is a very noisy area, so you may want to bring earplugs if that bothers you. Also, the kitchen smell/sounds filter in to room 4. It is located in...
