My friend and I stayed for four days and were very disappointed even though we tried to give it a chance. The showers only worked half the time (in terms of both pressure and hot water) which was unhelpful considering how cold Quito was. The...More
The place looks cool and has a decent backpacker vibe, and the terrace is beautiful, but overall we found Secret Garden to be dirty and uncomfortable. The bathroom was disgusting, too gross to shower in, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The fact that the...More
I used Quito as a bit of a hub as I visited other locations outside of Quito. I returned to The Secret Garden on three separate occasions. The dorms are relatively spacious with bunk beds and 6-8 person dorms. Some of the spaces between the...More
Staff weren't so helpful. They were regularly distracted and leaving customers wait to be served. The breakfast was very good and good value (we didn't have dinner here but it was popular and looked ok). The rooms are clean if kinda basic and the showers...More

The Secret Garden Quito arranges secure airport transfers, 24/7. The price is currently $28 for the one hour journey (per vehicle up to 3 pax). A Secret Garden driver with your name will greet you in the arrivals hall. You can arrange this either on the website or by emailing the hostel, preferably with at least 24 hours notice.
You can also just catch a taxi from the airport taxi rank - all drivers know The Secret Garden Quito - they charge around $25 to $30.
Quito airport is a long way from the city (more than 40km). There is public transport during the daytime (not late at night) but it is complicated and takes a long time. Allow about 2 hours to get to The Secret Garden Quito by bus/tram/walk.
