We spent our first night in Quito in La Cartuja and loved it. We spent another night there after a short trip to the Galápagos Islands. The charming traditional building, small attractive garden and location near the main shopping and restaurant areas make the hotel the ideal starting point to explore the city. The staff were welcoming and extremely helpful,...

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at La Cartuja. The hotel is in a very quiet neighborhood, but only 2 blocks from one of the busy streets that runs through Quito. It is clean, quiet, pretty, and the staff are extremely helpful There is a nice sunny courtyard with tables and chairs..The hotel is staffed 24 hours, which was great...

We had a nice stay at Hotel La Cartuja. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was courteous and friendly. It was a good location - walking distance to the Quito Artisanal Market, Parque El Ejido and restaurants (though I wouldn't recommend doing these walks after dark).

La Cartuja had excellent staff and was a pleasant place to stay while in Quito. Rooms were clean and comfy however the shower sometimes took a long time to warm up. Provided basic breakfast but was still tasty. Excellent spot to stay before and after Galápagos Islands trip with intrepid.

Stayed here as it was included in the Galapagos trip I was taking. The staff are friendly and helpful. Even when we asked directions to a laundromat and somewhere to eat! This hotel is the old English embassy and it was very nice. The Courtyard is a nice touch and a good spot for a cuppa. If you are in...

We were mistakenly double booked at another hotel but they transfered us here and we are so glad they did. The room was nice but the courtyard really made it a great place to stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating!

Stayed at this quite nice hotel, close to new town, when going to (and arriving from) my Galapagos trip. I didn't really chose it, as it was booked by Intrepid Travel, who I did the Galapagos tour with. It has clean rooms and the personel is quite helpful. Also it is very close to restaurants and shopping areas. And it...

Lovely, cosy little hotel in north Quito. Located in a quiet residential/embassy area, it's a quick walk to a number of restaurants and other amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast is adequate, if a bit sparse. The rooms are also quite basic, but comfortable and safe.

This hotel has only 11 rooms, and is reputedly the site of the former British Embassy. Each of the four of us traveling together had a room facing the garden courtyard. Rooms are not large but clean and adequate with clean bathrooms. The beds are firm; there is no heat or A/C, but the temperate climate doesn't require them. Wi-Fi...

This hotel is located in a quiet area of Quito. It is not really near too much, except for the Casa de Cultura and a park. It is a good long walk to either the Mariscal or the Centre of the city. If I were to go to Quito again, I would choose a hotel near the centre, where there...
