There are few places in the world as comfortable as Los Alpes. It is a home away from home. The staff are exceptionally friendly and competent. The internet access is excellent. Breakfast of fresh juice, cereal or eggs prepared as you like, toast and coffee or tea, all add up to a great way to start the day. The evening...

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights after returning from the Galapagos and found that most of the praise about this hotel from other reviewers are true. I had stayed at a different Quito hotel before my Galapagos trip and the Los Alpes was a much nicer place. Wi-Fi internet connection was fast and worked well in my 2nd...

I made reservations at Los Alpes by emailing them through their website. After receiving a confirmation email from Claudio the owner, followup emails from me went unanswered. Because of that, and the fact that he hadn't taken any information to hold our reservation, I wasn't sure what to expect. When we arrived at 10 pm we were greeted by name...

Our family of 4 + 2 in-laws recently stayed 4 nights @ Los Alpes and had a great time exploring Quito. Friendly staff, clean rooms, convenient location, and good value- all made us feel quite comfortable there. Claudio Sr. & Claudio Jr. are very good hosts- making sure to get you taxis, drivers, etc. Rooms are comfortable- nothing extravagent- but...

We stayed in this hotel as part of an extended honeymoon on the basis of the recommendations on Expedia. Without question, this hotel was a real highlight of the entire trip. The owner and his son really go out of their way to make your stay special. The ambience of the hotel is very homely and comfortable, the rooms are...

If your top priority is a friendly, homey atmosphere, this is your place. As others have said, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself feels like your rich old grandmother's house--some will find it quirky and charming, others will find it cluttered and outdated. The rooms are definitely a little run down.

The staff were very accomodating and helpful to the point that they comped many things, i.e. drinks, phone, etc. Our rooms were extremely unique and very large. We stayed there on two separate occasions during our travels throughout Ecuador. Both rooms were spacious with hallways inside them, interesting paitings and decor. They were really more like suites. The rooms were...

Stayed here 2 nights, the lobby interesting , old with all kinds of paintings and iron. People very kind, we had the airline (United in the States) lose a bag and the staff called the airline number and followed up in the morning. Lovely little breakfast room, Rooms were the problem, clean but run down. The carpet had definitely seen...

not bad? not very generous. This little hotel is saturated in hospitality, the most familial feel I've ever experienced in any inn or hotel. It is in a safe area, very close to La Mariscal Mercado (a great place to haggle for some very nice products) and there is a very handy little convenient store around the corner. It is...
