A gracious, elegant hotel in the old section of the city. Beautiful courtyard, lovely afternoon tea, great bar with handcrafted cocktails and fabulous restaurant. We arruved late on a Friday night and the staff were there to greet us. The hotel transportation from the airport was worth the cost. Best spot in Quito... don't miss it.

After a full day spent in airports and on planes we arrived at the hotel at midnight. The pleasant greeting by the doorman and the efficiency and friendliness of the receptionist were appreciated. We are greeted with fresh fruit juice and finger sandwiches. Our room was located off the beautiful garden with lush greenery, beautiful flowers and soothing fountain. The...

My brief visit to Casa Gangotena was to have a cocktail in the lovely bar. The building is an old mansion converted into a gorgeous hotel. We had walked all day and ended up at the Cathedral San Francisco...serendipitously, the hotel was right there! The bar area feels like a study with rich dark woods complemented by beautiful natural lighting...

We stayed two nights here with our teenage kids. They were able to give us a large room with two double beds. From the minute we were greeted until the minute we left, it was a very special stay. We arrived at midnight and greeted with fresh fruit juice and sandwiches. When we arrived in our room, there was a...

We stayed for 3 nights at Casa Gangotena in March. Yes, it is a lovely, elegant old building, but it certainly does not deserve the rave reviews it has been getting. Top 25 boutique hotel? Please! We arrived very early in the morning so check in went smoothly. However, when we were shown to our room on the first floor...

Just spent 4 nights in this beautiful hotel. It is perfectly situated on Plaza San Francisco, in easy walking distance to all the highlights of Quito's Old Town. Our room was beautiful and well-appointed. What prompted me to write this review though was the service. Unfortunately, while on our visit, my daughter became quite sick. Everyone was so accommodating -...

We have just stayed in Quito at this gorgeous hotel on San Francisco Plaza. We had a room on the first floor facing away from the square which was quiet except for the church bells which pealed on the hour from 5am. There are rooms with balcony and if we stay again we would ask for one of those. The...

Great location facing the square but make sure you ask what's on when checking in.We were woken very early and kept awake in the evening from construction noise in the square building market stalls and an entertainment stage. We weren't informed of this on arrival and it definitely affected our experience in Quito. The restaurant food was good and the service friendly...

This is an elegant, majestic hotel in Quito. It's centrally located to the shops and the Plaza de San Francisco. Check-in was quick and uneventful. It's nice to be seated when checking-in and not having to stand in a queue. The staff is friendly, well dressed and English well spoken. There are welcoming smiles and a bounce in their steps...

Truly spectacular in every way. The staff are attentive, beautifully appointed lobby and inside garden area with some original art from the once private mansion, rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds, wonderful pillows, linens are divine, and the attention to detail in the rooms you just don't find in hotels of even 5 star rating. For example on the...
