Very basic accommodation. The room was damp and not ventilated. Stayed 3 nights, not even basic housekeeping during that time. Pleasant hosts. Be sure to frequent the amazing cafe 'Jumandi' just across the plaza, for coffee, drinks, or great food.

We arrived about midnight from the airport and were told that they were full. I had the printed reservation from hostelbookers but we were sent to another hostal. Very annoying. We returned the next day and liked the place. If I were to stay again I would try harder to make sure our reservation was honored.

Hostal San Blas is more of a family run hotel than a hostel. The building is beautiful and is centrally located within walking distance to all major attraction in the historic district. If you need to get to more remote parts of Quito, you can take a bus or a very cheap taxi ( make sure you ask the driver... More

Clean hostal with very helpful and kind staff. It's a family run business and they serve a good breakfeast every morning with fresh homemade fruit juice. The staff have been treating us like family and they have been very helpful with touristic information about Quito. The beds are comfy and the showers have hot water.

If you are looking for a basic hostal close to Old Town. This place could be it. The hostal is right is Plaza San Blas, which is a easy 5 minute walk to old town. It is also very good for public transport. The rooms, themselves, are basic, but for the price, this place is a REALLY good value. The... More

We checked I hear as we needed to get a good night's sleep. Which might sound obvious but we have found it hard here in quiti Beds are comfortable and our room was right at the back. So very quite. Hot water most of the time, but not on our last day. We stayed for four nights, the staff are... More

Great place with a friendly and helpfull owner on a nice spot in Quito! Also safe and nice staff! Rooms are clean and quiet. Hot showers, WiFi. Also breakfast available if you want. Otherwise go to the little shop on the corner of the street! Good value for money! I would recommend it to anyone!

We had a good stay here with hot showers and clean rooms. The breakfast is great value at $1. The only downside was that someone was sweeping the courtyard at 6.30am and the dog was barking shortly after - not the best lie-in ever! You're not going to meet many travellers here but it's a decent hostel.

“All the rooms are bad considering they are connected to the open space where people talk at all hours of the day or night. The reception area also is so noisy that all door-bell buzzes can be heard in the rooms at all hours. Stay elsewhere!!”
