Super central, our hosts speaks spanish, english, brazilian and even a bit of french! Hotel is not new but beautiful, very sunny and colorful. You just feel good to sit on hammock or sofa on the roof top with beautiful view on the city! La Calle Chile is very busy around 5-7 pm (pedestrian street) but from 9-10 pm you... More

At one time this hostal must have seen some glory days because it has those basics for being nice. But on our visit, the following will ensure I won't visit it again: -the cobwebs, dust, some broken items -holes in our room's wall left over from a previous painting, -general sense of "dingy dirtiness around", -the convenience store breakfast (like... We stayed there for 2 nights and the place was OK. It's 2 blocks from the main square in old town which is convenient for sight seeing. One the other hand you get the noise from the early morning traffic. The room was clean although getting old. The shower took a long time to get warm but had good pressure.... More

I stayed here for 8 days in March 2016. I was already in Quito and booked my room in person. Mateus was really friendly and showed me round and let me pick the room I liked best, and gave me a good deal as I was staying over a week. I chose to be on the top floor where there... More

Quito Cultural is located right in the centre of the historical centre of Quito, 2 blocks away from the Plaza Grande and easy walking distance to all the other sights in the historic district. You are right in the middle of the Quito atmosphere, but also very safe and secure. The rooms are set around a lovely covered courtyard and... More

My husband and I stayed at Quito Cultural 5 nights and were impressed with the very friendly and attentive service. The hostal is in an old historic building and has funky art work all over. Its within easy walking distance of everything in the historical district, and also many bus lines. They provided a taxi pickup at the airport when... More

The owner Matheus has been incredibly kind and welcoming. He helped us arrange tours to Otavalo and Cotopaxi at a very short notice. The hostel is very simple but clean and quirky and has everything you need eg hot water, central location in the old town and good wifi connection. A special mention to Gisela who made us hearty breakfast... More

Centrally located near the historic district. It's only a 5 minute walk from the Government Palace. It is up on a hill and can get tiring walking up and down but central district is all on hills. The rooms were very spacious and I really liked the terrace view of the city. Mateos was amazing host! Really nice and super... More

A few days before our arrival a welcome email signaled this was going to be a great place and the taxi met us at the airport as promised. We loved our stay Mateus and his team welcomed and looked after us superbly. Out our window the basilica and the main walkway to independence square. The building could not have been... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hostal Quito Cultural born of a XVIII century building at the hands of a French architect, this house currently consists as a heritage of Barrio San Marcos the oldest in Quito. With a rich pre-Columbian history, the capital of Ecuador was founded on the ruins of an Inca city, but offers everything a modern traveler may need. Still one of the best preserved historical sites in Latin America and the UNESCO declared world heritage. The location of the hostel is convenient because it allows travelers to move around the old Quito and know all the baroque jewels, like the monasteries of San Francisco and Santo Domingo, as well as the church and the college of the Company. The hostel rooms have all the amenities to make guests feel comfortable and can enjoy their holiday as they deserve, our main seal of the fraternity is offered by our staff. ... more   less
